LOOTERS
« on: August 26, 2017, 08:26:35 am »
It is already bad enough that Texas is going through this Hurricane Harvey, but now they are catching looters in the evacuated areas.  One of the idiots that they caught said they didn't think the police would be out for a few more hours.  Besides some jail time, maybe these dopes should have to do community service clean up too in the areas they were looting.

Stay safe, don't fight them because if they know no one is watching they can harm you much more.

unfortunately looters happen everytime there is a disaster, these people must feel that something is owed to them.

I agree with you plennis, they SHOULD be made to do community service, with a bright yellow or orange colored jumper on with big black letters that say Im a douchebag who stole from others

I don't understand how people can do this.  It has never crossed my mind to go and take something that belongs to someone else.  I'll never understand that mentality, and I think that people who steal without having a second thought about it should be evaluated for some kind of mental disorder.

Looters should go to jail for a long time and we should make sure knows so that in the future people might think twice before looting.

People like that make me sick. They are taking advantage because of a natural disaster.

It's because of people like this that some people would not leave their homes even when they're in the mandatory evacuation areas :(

I hope these looters get the harshest sentencing possible.

I don't understand these people. If you're in a dire situation and you stole some kind of food or first aid, I could understand that. But just plain looting, I don't get it.

I think the looters are the lowest of the scum. They should be jailed and then forced to work to clean up the town.  Lose all rights if they have any including any freebies. the people they are looting are already going through so much and then too have to put with this. But it seems like they think it is fair game and owned to them when ever disaster  strikes.

People ran scams with 9/11......what makes you think they wouldnt do it with this?

Just catch them and prosecute them like any other burglary.

I think because of the circumstances of a disaster, mandatory evacuation, they should receive special circumstances/enhanced sentences.  This is not just a regular burglary.

Depending on judge you just might get that.

Whenever I see disasters such as this, my heart goes out to babies, small children, and pets.

They do not understand what is going on.

Unfortunately, there will always be those who are willing to screw everyone else over to get something free or to make a buck.

However, I also know that there are a lot more people who help each other, and go out of their way to help others.
