Did you walk to your school in your younger days?

I never walked to school but had to walk to the bus stop.

As I was growing up, I lived too far to walk to school, and as I got older I still rode the bus. High School was 10 miles away from home, Elementary was almost 15 or a little more.

I always walked to school growing up, elementary through high school. I grew up in a small town and my elementary school was at the end of my block, and my middle school and high school were only four blocks away. Growing up in a small town can get boring but it was really nice to be able to walk pretty much everywhere. My high school job and our downtown was a five minute walk away too so on pretty days, it was great exercise to just walk where you need to go.

I rode the bus from junior high onward.  I did miss the bus for junior high and my mom made me walk. Uphill.  I about died.  It was hideous.

My high school was closer than the junior high, but it was all uphill again. I tried to get the bus or my sister would drive me.  I would rather walk home than walk TO school at that point because it was flat or downhill on the way home.

I walked to school from 1st through high school.  We usually lived pretty close to all my schools.

I used to walk to and from school from about 4th grade all the way up to high school.  It wasn't a big deal because there were a lot of kids who walked to school back then. I didn't live very far from the school.

I used to walk to Summer School, but that was it. I actually lived closer to my summer school than I did with any of my actual schools.

I used to walk about 2 miles each way. That was nothing though. I was very young and healthy. I'm still young but 2 miles each way would tire me out now. Just being honest here. I would like to be in better shape but it is difficult with illness.

Road a bus way to far away to walk to school

I got lucky.  I never had to walk to school even though my elementary school was right across from where my parents lived and all I had to do was literally cross the street.  My middle school I road the bus but right after my 8th grade year, the neighborhood became a walking area so my mom drove my younger brother to school and my high school was in a different town (which was really weird).

Yes I sure did for high school anyway .......... lived 1/8 of a mile short so yep I was hoofing it to school and back.  But I walked with my best friend at least part of the way so it was ok.

I rode the bus but once we moved to town then I did until I could drive.

I didn't walk 20 miles through the snow but maybe a half mile
