Unlimited posting
« on: January 29, 2018, 08:20:45 am »
I highly suggest you remove the nine posts per 24 hour period limit for new members. It stopped me from posting several times this week and came up more than once a day because it goes by 24 hour periods.  So what if I make 10 or 12 posts a day?  It shouldn't matter. At least make it 20 posts per 24 hour period if you feel there has to be a limit.
Thank you for your consideration.

It's only for newer members so they had time to learn the site and adjust to it without flooding the forum. Once you've been a member for awhile and following forum rules you get full function of the forum.

What exactly do you feel the need to post about so often? Do you have questions that can be answered by reading the terms of service or reading other posts? Or are you just trying to make a  bunch of posts quickly for the bonus?

I second what ladavia asked..... why would you have a need to post more than 9 times in 24 hours?  If you have questions about how FC works, there are lots of resources.  I found " FLOREZITTA'S BEGINNERS GUIDE to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS" to be very helpful when I first started.  If you are just trying to get to your 30 posts for the bonus, you do not need to do a whole bunch of posts daily to reach 30....remember, there is only 1 $3 bonus for posting, it doesn't accrue -- that is, you are not going to earn $6 for 60 posts, etc.

If you do have a bunch of questions you can't find answers for, I would suggest combining the questions into 1 post.  FC members are very helpful!

Its also in place for newer members so they can't abuse the 30 post thing to get the posting bonus where you can get it on one day

It was explained in the past that new members are restricted to post a certain amount a day because "some" of these new members abuse the forum by posting nonsensical posts just to earn the forum bonus. Such posts make it even harder for regular members to participate on posting a reply.

I only post two times in a twenty four hour period. I can't think of that much to talk about. :)

I am actually beginning to question why this is restricted to new members.  I get that it is primarily to protect against spam from a new member who has no intention of becoming a contributory member and is just looking to spam the boards right from the outset with junk.  But on occasion, we end up with established members who do almost the same thing by posting several dozen new thread topics with one or two word comments which are simply designed to quickly reach their 30 post monthly quota. Isn't this both a rule violation and the equivalent of the spam the 9 post limit on newbies is aimed at?

They have put the restriction back on some members who continuously did all 30 posts in a short period . Its probably about time they go through and do it again

I am a "Newbie" so I am wondering, will they tell me here in the Forum "You have reached your limit" (whatever it is) or will my posts over that limit just not count towards my bonus?

Yep.  Tried to post my next post and the Gatekeeper said enough!

Thanks for the response, though.

Some people have tried to post all 30 posts on the first of the month and claim them, and then stay off the forum the rest of the month.

Because I often forget to post in the form so I'll get on a roll and just do a bunch, especially if I find interesting topics to post on.  It's just nice not to have to worry about a 9 post limit .  There are times I've found a lot of interesting subjects to read and post on and have had to stop because of that limit.
