Sliced Ketchup
« on: March 31, 2018, 04:36:50 pm »
Has anyone else heard about this? There's a company that is now producing sliced ketchup (think like sliced cheese) and they are trying to sell them to restaurants to "speed up production". They are allegedly non-GMO and gluten free. Would any of you buy a sliced ketchup? How would we dunk our fries? :(

The idea behind it is that it is easier to put a slice of ketchup on a burger than to put a little squirt of ketchup and spread it across a bun. They have them packaged one slice in a little packet, so I don't understand how it saves time (they still have to open the packet).

Haven’t heard about that.  I guess it might work on hamburgers, but not so much on French fries.

I heard about that a few days ago.I might try it once out of curiosity, but I don't think I would like it as much.It seems like whatever they used to keep the ketchup solid would affect the taste. As far as the fries go,we wouldn't be able to dunk them.Maybe we could put a slice of the ketchup over the fries and microwave it,hoping the ketchup would melt over the fries.
