Do you eat food that’s expired if it still smells and looks fine?

I do if it's expired only for a few days.  Then again it also depend on the food item.

Never! Had food poisoning once from a restaurant and never want to feel like that again.  Not worth the risk.

I eat canned food that is expired. The expiration dates are pretty much random. There is no government anything that determines the expiration date.

if says expired and then looks bad or smells bad, then I'll throw it away, but if still looks good and smells good then I'll hurry up and eat it before it starts to go bad.

It really depends on the food and when it was first opened.  it also depends on if the date is a fresh by, sell by or expired by.  The FDA only recognizes the expired by date as a legit it could actually cause discomfort if you eat it beyond that date.  There once was a day dates weren't put on food and it was up to us to use our best judgement when eating anything.

No I just can't bring myself to do it.  God bless her soul my mother grew up in the depression and I guess that is why she would eat stuff way out of date unless I got to her fridge before she could eat something.  I probably throw stuff away that is still good but I am not taking any chances.

I'll eat it if its just a day or two over expiration, unless its a slimy green mess.

Canned goods-yes unless they have pull top lids. Then it's iffy. i've eaten canned goods 4-5 years expired if they had regular tops. Milk - at least 3 days later and eggs, up to a month later.

Pinapple in the cans...they were in the back of my pantry and didn't know it. Was using up some stuff and came across a can that "exploded" at one time, but don't know when and another can that was bulging. All 3 went out in the trash. I guess they weren't over-expired! LOL

I will eat food that is expired if it isn't too far past the expiration date.  I think the date printed is usually the SELL BY date.  Leftover home cooked food, I try to eat by day 3 or 4.
