Do you use a stick when you wash clothes? My Mom and Grandmother did and now I do. My Nanny never liked to get her hands wet so she pushed her clothes down with a stick :)

I have never heard of using a stick to wash clothes.  I just put my clothes in the washing machine and let the machine do the work.

Sorry but I’m confused.  I put detergent in, load clothing, close lid, hit temperature and cycle and hit start.  Water automatically enters, washes, rinses, and spins semi dry.

I laundry the same way that Nancy5 does.  No sticks.

I remember using a stick when I was little.  My mom had a wringer washing machine.  I hated it.  I love my good old Samsung washer.

  :star:    I don't use a stick for laundry. The older days people used to use them. I wouldn't think with the newer designed washer's people wouldn't need a stick for clothes.   :star:

When I was little we didn't have a washing machine, so we used a wash board.

I guess she just did not like to touch the dirty clothes. I don't either however I just throw them in the washer and wash my hands when done. Do not use a stick.

My washer is a front loader so no. However I can remember an older model my parents used to have where I can sort of imagine an application for using a stick although I don't think they ever did.

I start the machine and let the detergent suds up a bit...then I add the clothes (I do use a stick because I don't like touching the water)  :) :)
