That's true, and now they have instant payout.

I go for PayPal,  when it is an option for purchases I opt for it.  It gives a layer of protection on purchases.

I did checks in the past but seemed to take to long to receive and then got worried that the check was lost so I switched to Paypal.  I don't do direct deposit because I don't like giving out my account information

Paypal. I don't have to worry about the check getting stolen or lost in the mail, and then I don't have to go through the steps of depositing it.

I prefer PayPal. It is more convenient, expedite, and oh so, modern, LOL. I cannot believe some of the survey websites I participate in refuse to use PayPal as a payment method. Ugh.

I have always used pay pal with no problem.  They transfer to my bank account quickly and efficiently.

I use direct deposit. Then I don't have to worry about taking a check to the bank or transferring it from my PayPal account. And as others have probably said you don't get a 1099 sent to you unless you make over $600 in the calendar year. If you make under that amount you don't have to report it.

There are fees associated with using PayPal and the payer pays those unless they charge you.  I was looking at one thing to sign up with and it said the PP fees would be deducted from the earnings before being deposited. So in other words it costs FC money to use PayPal.  Of course it costs to mail out a check as well.  I guess that is why some sites charge a processing fee.

You have to report it if the company sends a 1099.  Most do not if it is under $600 but some do.  I know of 2 that ask for a SS when you sign up and tell you that any earnings will be reported.  I passed on both of them.
