Well, I am a federal worker contractor, and during the shutdown I am home, without pay, and because is a contract WE WILL NOT GET PAYBACK, so to all of you that say you do not care, please think of the families that have only 1 salary, do not get pay check now, we are on the 3rd week of the shutdownn for Christ sake.  I have to pay mortgage, utilities and eat and my paycheck is gone.

People needs to be a little bit compassionate of others and not selfish.  And I am not only talking about the government, all of them the Peesident, the congress the senate they are all sacrificing families for stupidities.  I am also talking about people who says WHO CARES, hopefully since some of you have jobs you can help me pay my bills.

I do care that you are penalized because the higher ups in the government can't seem to get their Sh*t together and work this out.

They never seem to think of the little guy who is the one who always seems to suffer from their actions.

Trump's tax cuts helped me.  My next paycheck went up by a good amount. SO I am all for the tax cuts.

After reading several of the responses on this thread, I understand how Trump was elected in the first place and continues to have the support he has.  You cannot fix opinionated, close-minded, and unwilling to accept facts!

LOL Nope you sure can't.  Guess that is why the dumocrats keep having support!                                                                                I am so SICK of your bullying disrespect to other posters.  QUIT calling members dumocrats!!!  Rude disrespect to other posters is NOT allowed here.

First off, you need to not add your comment to MY comment and make it look like "I" said it.  I will use the phrase dumocrats if i want to.  It is funny you think it is okay for people to call me names and attack me but get mad if I say anything back. If anyone insults me I WILL defend myself.  Maybe this entire thread needs to be locked or deleted. People seem to have strong feelings.

If you do not like my comments then "ignore" me.  Simple fix.  And FYI I am not bullying anyone.

I have seen people insult Republicans and Trump and people who voted for both over and over ON THIS SITE!  You don't seem to have any issues with that.

Let them shutdown! As long as it doesn't effect my job personally, go ahead and just shutdown. There are a lot of valid points listed here...

This happens every year or two.  Not a big deal.  And all the stuff people get so bent out of shape about never happens.  The food stamp card will not stop working, the welfare checks will continue to come, and the tax refunds will go out on time.

Most of those that are  off right now would be anyway, and they  do get paid later  when the  government opens back up. the only  thing is  the tourist are the ones who don't  get to see the national  sights.  But I am sure there are a lot of  state parks and sights to see.  Obama  did several  shut downs. Every time he couldn't get his way.  He  gave billions to other countries. Billions to Fannie Mae and Freddie mac to keep them going when they were  giving money away like crazy to  people  wanting to buy house that had no idea how to pay for one and they lost their tails on it.  All President Trump wants is 5B.  Just another democrat ploy to  make him look bad.

EXACTLY!!!

And we need the wall.  You cannot have open boarders and just let who ever walk right in.  Nobody is saying no to immigrants just ILLEGAL immigrants.
Nobody is talking about open borders besides Trump. Send money on patrols and moving the court hearings along quickly but this "wall" is a waste.  Most illegals are visa overstays.  The illegal who shot the cop in CA recently was from Fiji not Mexico so the wall would have been no use.  If everyone who believes in the Wall donates to that Gofundme they can have their wall and not take away from other more important uses for 5 billion

Boy, did you get your facts wrong! The officer was a LEGAL IMMIGRANT from Figi. The man who shot the officer was an ILLEGAL from MEXICO.  The CBP agents have been attacked by illegals in the caravan and let's not forget those CBP agents that were killed by illegals. Two were killed recently and let's not forget Brian Terry killed by a gun that came from the Fast & Furious debacle.  Pelosi wants facts yet she doesn't believe the
the statistics and numbers from various government departments like the CBP and other enforcement agencies. She calls CBP agents liars! That's sad.

Too funny! She didn't understand that "close minded, opinionated and unwilling to accept facts" was seemingly directed at her. This is to be expected from someone that has a deeper appreciation for self over others. I have found that it does not pay to engage a person with these qualities. Just nod your head, smile and enjoy their show as you would with a third grade student that doesn't know any better and resorts to name calling. The poster does not know any better.  You have to give credit to someone that has so much passion regardless of how misguided it may be. Try to understand that the poster, most likely, did not have the benefits that so many of us had which allowed us to be independent thinkers and helped us to avoid inappropriate bursts of anger.

So, I wonder who this little president will blame this shut down on this time? He can't blame it on Obama anymore. Right!? I agree with the suggestion that we, cut down the pay for all government personal starting with this cry baby man child president! Also, we should charge, the correct tax percentage fees for the altura rich 1 percent American citizens first!

The president is only taking a $1 from his salary because he is forced by law to take it. The rest of it is donated to different charities and/or government programs.  As for taxing the rich, they are taxed but they have an advantage others don't have and that's the deductions they can take, especially if they own a company.  If you look at tax records of former presidents, even they take all the tax deductions they can...and that's pages and pages of them. Even Obama, who made millions off his books and capital gains still only paid  a couple thousand dollars in taxes. Romney, Biden, etc. all of them take advantage of deductions.

It's a shame that the Dems, including the leaders, will not compromise because the hate for Trump is overwhelming to the point of hurting the citizens of this country.  That's what's really sad. They care for illegals more than the citizens.  The proof of that is sanctuary cities and states.

All who agree with 45, give your money to build a wall.  The Democrates is not asking the people to give away billions of dollars.  No one said a thing when Republicans block everything President Obama tried to do and he was not asking for tax payer to pay billions of dollar, so all who agree with 45 then give up your money.  A president who don't even pay his owe taxes. :D  You are correct.  I recently was arguing some idiot at work who was wrong and as I was speaking with another agency the lady there told me just smile and say 'uh-huh" and go on.  They are wrong so just shake your head and go on. lol

Republicans did not block everything obama tried to do.  And calling Trump 45 is disrespectful.  Oh yeah that is insulting Republicans so that is okay. lol

And he does pay his taxes.  You need to quit screaming release tax records.  obama wouldn't show his birth certificate and I am willing to bet you thought that was okay.  He also asked for billions of dollars to shove obamacare down our throats.  Millions of people lost insurance so the deadbeat welfare bums could have it.  Heck, a lot of them even lost what they had.

And yes, something was said when Republicans tried to block stuff he done.  Do you seriously not remember when obame shut down the government to get his obamacare funded?

I say all who agree to open borders give your money to fund the illegals who need medical care, food, housing, and everything else.  They do not come across the border and pay their own way.

First of all, the stats reported in the above post appear to be right on.  It is open knowledge that a majority of Americans don't support the wall as a priority.
Second of all, the S & P reports that the shutdown could cost the economy as much as 1.2 billion per week.  Yes, let's add that to the already staggering national debt and a wall on top of that.
Thirdly, TSA and Border Patrol are not getting paid as well as Air Traffic Control, but by all means, let's pay that wimp Pence and some of those other blowhards in Congress.
Fourth, tax returns will be withheld so if you are in need and counting on that, forget it!
Fifth, national parks and museums are not open so the tourist industry is taking a hit!
Sixth, it is up in the air whether Native Americans will receive pay, food, or medicine!

So, by all means, over a dang wall that those who really want in will be able to figure out how to get around, build that billions of dollars wall rather than pass common sense immigration policy that has definitive criteria we can stand by and make known. Trump was offered some money in return for a Daca policy but it wasn't enough for His Highness.

No it isn't.  In order to say most Americans do not support the wall you would have to ask every American. That has not happened.

And you have no idea tax returns will be with held.  They screamed that last year too and I got mine back with in a couple of weeks.

You don't understand the parameters of taking polls.  Polls are taken all the time and certain demographics are asked up front so that a cross section of people can be exemplified.  So, quit talking about having to ask every single American.  That has nothing to do with the scientific method of taking polls. And yes, polls can be done so that they lean either way, but the majority of polling supports that a majority of Americans are not in favor of a ridiculous wall!

As far as tax returns are concerned, as of the present, and that's all we can talk about, Trump is talking about prolonging the shutdown. If that is the case, it won't be much longer and people's tax refunds will be delayed.  So talk about what you know because you don't know everything...obviously!

Polls... here's a little secret. Paints is partially right about polls...do the posters backing their info rely on polls? Certainly, yet most poll takers only allow up to 1000 people to answer. That's not a very large percentage of the population. So leaning on polls that only a miniscule amount of people vote is not representative of the country.

The person who stated Trump wants $30 Billion is wrong. He want $5 billion which is a drop in the bucket. Plus the Dems are LYING when they say it's for 2000 miles. No, it's not. It's only for the most vulnerable areas where it's known the illegals are coming through. The rest of the money is for hiring more agents, tech equipments, etc. You can't control the borders with drones. They can't arrest anyone. They can only videotape those getting through and then manpower  has to find them.  Depending on where the CBP is situated through their patrols, it could take up to 20 minutes to get to the area. There's a program I watch on cable called Border Wars.  Now there is reality in the world of illegals and drugs.

I think the CBP and ICE  know exactly what's needed to protect the citizens of this country and they suggested a combination of the above plus the wall. I wish people would do the research instead of relying on the talking points of each party and the media, who are obviously partisan.

Can you imagine if people could pick & choose what their taxes went for, you kind of do when you vote; but how many would stop wanting their tax dollars to pay for welfare, or abortions, or food stamps.... or not to pay congressional salaries, which they continue to get for life even when they are no longer re-elected, or step down.

The Democrats have allocated $12 Billion for foreign aid to other countries in this tax package -- how many taxpayers want their money to go to other countries, while our own infrastructure is failing, there are over 58,000 homeless here in LA nightly on the streets -- not enough beds for them, classroom sizes here in Southern California are 40 children per teacher they are so impacted, not one airport in the USA makes it on the top 30 airports in the world list -- the US still uses radar, while the 1st world uses GPS.. the list goes on & on.

We, the USA, just recently have allocated $300 million to build a wall on Jordan's border.... did you want your tax dollars to go there?   We gave Israel $30 billion to build their wall....   we pay over $5 billion a month to fund Afghanistan.  And while we continue to be the caretaker of the 3rd World, we are over 20 Trillion in debt.... and China just landed on the moon last week.

& you are wrong, President Obama created more national debt than all the other Presidents combined, he doubled the national debt from like 10 Trillion to 20 Trillion. He did indeed 'ask the tax payers to pay billions of dollars' ... Trillions, in fact.

Gee, Dems aren't asking to give away billions of your money? Have you seen the bills they just passed?  It includes  $12 billion more for foreign aid in “international affairs programs,” including $2.9 billion more “for economic and development assistance, including funding for the West Bank/Gaza, Syria, and Pakistan, where our foreign aid is either frozen or under review," $700 million more than requested for the United Nations, including restored funding for the United Nation’s Population Fund (aka abortions, even though federal law bars the use of taxpayer dollars for foreign organizations that “promote or perform abortions"). approximately $2 billion more than requested for the EPA, and $7.1 billion more than the administration requested for HUD.

Oh, and let's not forget that they voted a raise for themselves.

I find funding terrorism unacceptable and I also find breaking the laws by funding groups whose assets are frozen and abortions unacceptable, don't you?

If anyone wants the truth on immigration and illegals, just go to the USCIS reports, or other government agencies that collect data.

Exactly. And that hate is going to shut this country down.  And it isn't just in the government. You see it in THIS thread as well as any other place where people can post.  The dumos are so full of hate they would deprive themselves of oxygen if Trump came out in favor of it. lol.

The people who are crying about the "rich" taking deductions take EVERY deduction they can.  The rich nor anyone else owes no one any of the money they have worked for.  I do not owe anybody anything!

And another fact for these idiots - Everyone of the things Trump is enforcing now obame done the exact same thing.  The kids in "cages" those were pictures from when obame was president.  Not recent or under Trump.  obame and Clinton both had travel bans while in office at some point.  Nobody said a thing.  It is like you said, they have so much hate for Trump (and he has given no reason for it other than being Republican) that they will be against anything he wanted to do.
