Blocking people on forum
« on: April 16, 2019, 11:22:29 am »
I hate blocking people because I am of the opinion that everyone is entitled to their opinion but that belief is trumped by the old saying "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" aka move on to another post. With that said I blocked the 2nd person I have ever blocked today.  I think if you say you don't find something funny but then you add trying to make the posting member feel stupid on top of it I have no use for you.  Plenty of posts to  write on without messing with the ones you don't like.

sometimes we just have to :( Just because a person is hiding behind their keyboard doesnt give them the right to put others down, or belittle them. If it makes your day happier not to have to see that persons posts, then by all means. Hope your day goes better from here on out :)

I do not agree.  Telling someone you do not find something they said funny doesn't mean you are telling them they are stupid.

I also do not feel bad about blocking people.  I have over the years blocked several just because I do not want to see what they say.  My only thing is I wish when you blocked them it totally blocked them so you do not see them at all and they cannot see you.  Like on other sites.

Unfortunately, it happens all too often. This should not be the place to put others down.

I have only blocked one person on here and he is no longer on the site.  There are some others that I would like to block but then you won't be able to express your opinion on their comments and may lose a posting

you r right about that!!!!!!!      the forum is just to give opinions if you want to give it, and a lot of times they result in other topics.  making new aquaintances is also a part of it. thanks for reminding folks!!!!

I thought of blocking a couple people when I first started posting because they were rude, with put down remarks.  I didn't though.  I just don't read their posts because of their ignorance.  I try to treat people how I want to be treated.

You can't "block" them.  You can "ignore" them.  And all it means is you do not see what they post. If they post in the same thread as you or reply to your comments you see "their name, and you are ignoring this user".  I do wish they would truly implement a BLOCK feature.

If you do not like someone then why bother expressing your opinions to them?  You might "miss a posting"?  Big deal.  Post some where else.  I have never had any problems meeting the 30 posts per month.

It is also a way to get info.  I started a thread a few days ago that has resulted in a lengthy discussion and a lot of useful info has been exchanged.

lol And you are doing exactly what you accuse others of.  You are calling people you do not agree with ignorant. smh

Wow didn't think that FC would allow such behavior on here like that, B.R. A.P. / Being Respectful Always Prevails, that person needs to learn that.
