Do you like things to come out "even"

Yes when it comes to money, somehow I can do the math in my head easier if it's an even dollar/cent amount. A bill for $33.57 will mystify me

I do it with my purchases because when I round it out the extra goes to my daughter student loans.  It is app called ChangEd not much each on purchase but it has added up over the last couple of years.

Yes I like things to end up even too or in incraments of 5, like 5,10,15 and so-on.

I do that with restaurants a lot....i'll round the tip up to something even (or .50)....not sure why but I guess it just feels right and makes it easier for me....

I don't have your even compulsion but I have similar things. I won't step on a crack in a sidewalk, for example, because of that old saying "Sept on a crack and break your mother's back". It's just silly.

I certainly understand! I use to be almost obsessive about finding patterns in numbers, now I too only even them out when it can be easily done.

i do like things to come out even. i drives me crazy when there there is an extra of something.i am probably one of the few that writes checks for groceries.when doing so i always round up to the nearest dollar. that way it is even and it is easier to balance my checking account!

Okay, so I read through the rest of this thread (at the time of my post anyway), but I had to come back and comment on this post because I found it the most intriguing. So when you round up at the grocery store and write a check, do they give you change back like if you were paying in cash, or do they get a small tip as the difference between your register price and your payment? I would guess that you get change, but I wonder if some stores might have a no change unless it is paid in cash policy.

I'm leaving today to go to my sisters for Thanksgiving and I am at $9.98.  I have to earn 2 more cents to have a even $10.00 before I leave or else it will bother me.

I do prefer things to come out even but will still settle for numbers ending in 5. I always thought that was odd.

I like when things are even but my favorite number is 3 so I like that and multiples of it.  i do get here you are coming from though. i stopped with the tipping for bills because at the end of the day if im paying with card the balance in my bank account wont be even so it doesn't matter

I aways want my dollar amount to be even when I cash out. I almost every month I cash out for an even amount.
