New admins but with limited power
« on: February 29, 2020, 11:32:58 pm »
I think we need new admins on these forums even if they have minor power with less then what an actual admin has to answer questions and move topics where they are supposed to be at would be a plus. They could even be just volunteers from this forum to help do it, To many topics in this part of the forum alone belong in off topic when this is supposed to be suggestions area of the forums. It doesn't have to be people who think they should be paid more like people who want to be here and do a little extra for the FC community

I used to moderate on a couple firearms forums back in the day....kinda fun but could be a pain at times also.

I don't see what the big deal is about where a thread is started. If people would not jump on the person and 30 people saying this is in the wrong place the thread would die down. It is not that big of a deal.  Half the crap in off-topic should have been in the debate section.  I honestly do not think there are any admins on this site.  According to the BBB there is only one employee.  The site has gone down hill over the years.  There have been NO new offers on this site since I joined several years ago.  And several things have either went away or are still showing on the site but no longer work.

Also do not agree that someone who has been in the forums for a while should be allowed to remove other members posts.  As for moving conversations that have been started to another part of the forums I don't think they can do that.  All they can do is delete it or lock it.  It is like when I started one and it got started in the wrong place and everybody yelling you need to move this to off-topic.  I can't MOVE it any where.

I suggested in my most recent support ticket regarding hitch that they make a couple of the long term members un-paid mods, so that they can get deal with some of this stuff. Haven't heard anything about it yet.

I don't worry about where they are posted and to me it doesn't matter as long as you can post a reply and get credit for.  Think it would more helpful to answer all the support tickets than worry about someone accidentally posting to the wrong catergory.

SO you propose that random members are able to delete other members they don't like?  The owner of the site can stop things if they want to.  The owner of the site is not going to give random people he does not even know any control over any part of the website.  I am a webmaster on a couple of sites.  There is NO way I would give random people control over any part of the sites.

I vote to make JediJohnnie and [whichever is the most current version/username of Hitch] moderators with deletion powers, with the exception that they cannot delete each other.

I totally agree with your opinion on where there are posts.  I usually just say to myself something like, "Does someone not look at the heading and think about what they are going to post?" but it really doesn't matter that much to me. I have much more important things to think about than this...like taking a nap, getting groceries, or what time a fav show is on the TV!

To those of you that are tired of the delays of Fusion Cash NOT responding to your posts, you can blame this poor soul of cluttering up the progress of the monitor.

By his own admission about 5 months ago, this fool had already written 47 reports to FC to try and ban a member who had already been banned from the forum.I can just imagine what that # is now.

We dont care what FC does.We know many of you are frustrated not getting answers cos this clown causes delays.

Your posts may be answered quicker if you asked FC to remove  him and his nonsense.Think about it!!

Slow down cowboy, I didn't say "Random Members" I said "Long Term members" big difference.

Website owners trust mods to handle their sites all the time. This is hardly a revolutionary idea.

Don't a select few have "Helpful contributor" titles or whatever? They're the types that should get the job.
