Paper Towels
« on: July 03, 2020, 03:18:30 pm »
Why is it so difficult to find regular sized paper towels at the store? Every single multi-pack of every single brand nowadays always seems to be the select-a-size paper towels. I hate those! Just give me my standard, one size, square sheet paper towels.

lol The same reason you can't find toilet paper. The same reason you can't find many other items. In defense of the stores I have talked to dept managers at our grocery store and at Walmart and both say they are not getting as much stock from manufacturers. They can't keep up with the demand.

Get together with a neighborhood group and swap the sizes you don't want for the ones you do. Maybe even run an ad on something like Craigslist or OfferUp to find players.

I like the select a size, it always seemed like such a waste to have the large ones when you only needed the small ones.

I seem to be able to find regular size paper towels when I buy them online! Good luck on the hunt!  :)

I personally prefer the Kirkland paper towels from Costco, which are half-regular-sized paper towels, just right for me. I even use them to wash dishes, since I can't stand to touch grease and the cloth ones become grease-logged even after washing. But I take one of the half sheets and fold it into fourths, and that fits nicely in my hand and has multiple uses for me: washing dishes, windows, counters, tables, etc. But I completely understand wanting to have a particular size of something, so wishing you the best of luck in finding the regular-sized paper towels!  :peace:

I only buy select-a-size. I wish they were also perforated in the other direction, so I could just tear off half of the smallest size sheet. Paper towels are so wasteful.

I always preferred the full sized sheets, but since I can't find them at the store I shop I have to get the 'select a size'.

Some times I tear of 2 just to have a full sized sheet to use.  Sometimes cleaning or wiping up a spill half a sheet just won't do.

i sure hope good paper towels come back soon! I'm sick of the ones that take 1/2 a roll instead of  1 sheet to clean something! :rose: :rainbow: :peace:

I'm just lucky to find any type of paper towels.  I don't care what kind they are or what size they are just as long as I can find some.

We were also on the lookout for those for months. Then one day, my husband happened to go to Costco when they got a big shipment of regular paper towels in so he bought two huge 12-packs of them. Now I struggle to find space to keep them in the house.

I thought this type of thing had ended.  There are a lot of stores who now have more paper towels, tissue etc.

I have not had this problem for a while but I am sure all the idiots will buy up all the paper goods again at some point.  >:(
