Blinkers. A thing of the past?

Just venting about people not using their blinkers when they are lane changing or turning in front of you.

I keep wondering why the manufacturers of cars keep putting them in cars at all anymore. They would surely make more money by eliminating them.

And I seriously believe not very many people would miss them, since they are too tired or too distracted to ever use them.

Am I alone in this thought? Isn't it my business whether or not you're turning in front of me?? I'm just sayin'.

I used to think that was annoying. But since Covid and the riots, that's nothing now. These days people are running red lights and stop signs like they aren't there, turning corners from the wrong lanes, passing on the shoulder, drag racing, etc. The cops aren't pulling people over for traffic violations anymore, so it's a free for all.

Yeah, I do all that other stuff, imaginarygirl, but the blinker thing is more than I can stand.

BTW, yesterday we came within an inch of being t-boned by someone running a red light in the opposite direction.

Fortunately, due to my astute driving skills (just kidding  ), I stopped before we met in the middle of the intersection.

They still enforce the laws here for turn signals even though some people just run lights but then again its been that way for a few years now pre covid. Lazy drivers pretty much. The best time to get a dash cam is now so if you get into a wreck you didn't cause or get hit you have a way to back yourself up from any lies the other driver may or may not try to use to pretty much mess you over

Just FYI. A few days ago I counted over five cars that kept going through a red light from the road crossing mine while I was waiting to turn onto it with a green light.

I'm befuddled. First chance I ever got to use that word and it really fits.

I am firmly convinced that no one has time for red lights anymore, so they just disregard them altogether. This does not bode well for those of us who believe in the traffic laws. This includes those who are speeding everywhere battling for position as they attempt to be the fastest car on the highway. I supposed they are all late for something, or desire to shave a couple of minutes off their time.
