What part of illegal am I not understanding?

I was listening to the radio last week and heard about a bill to give illegal immigrants a valid state driver's license without questioning their residencey.  They could state that they weren't redients of the United States and get a license. Seriously?!? I am also curious as to why 'illegals' are given in state tuition instead of a ride back to their country of origin? Why are illegals allowed to go to our public schools? We are paying the taxes for the roads that people drive on and the schools that our kids go to...not a cent comes from people who are here illegally. Leave no child behind? Why don't we take care of the kids that are here legally first.

Oh so true. Life is becoming easier for the illegals it seems but harder on folks born and raised here. It's not right and it's not fair. No one pays for my housing or my daughters schooling but my husband and I. We have no one giving us anything. We work and pay our taxes which seem to support every one else. Perhaps we should move out of the country and come back as illegals.

I agree. I live in N.M. and at the time our democratic congress and governor granted illeagels driving lic. It was one of the most supid ideas they come up with. And it has caused a lot of problems around our state. What part of illeagel do not the people running our country understand. And now with out stupid congress wanting to eventually grant those that are here illeagely citizinship. What bunch of crock. They came over here illeagely and should have to be deported and come back in leagel was as a lot have done. What a slap in the face to those who did it the right way. They are breaking our contry.
Having lived in a border town for 14 years we have seen it all there. Had a place out in the country and at least 3 times a week we had to call border patrol because the illeagels on our property or our neighbors. It was awful.

I have to agree with you on this one. It might help to increase the wages if there were not so many illegals.

They are called illegal aliens because they did  not have a passport or visa when they came over here.  They came to the United States by any means necessary.  But if they came here illegally and had a child while in the United States, that child is an American citizen, while the parent is still an illegal alien.   In some instances, those people have come to the United States in a boat, a truck, just smuggled into America.  People will hire an illegal immigrant because they will work for little or nothing.

Yes giving them drivers licenses is beyond ridiculous and it's getting way out of hand.  It's like people just decided to throw their hand up and say to hell with it.  The flood gates are open just let them in and take everything.  It's like the states have completely given up.  They are coming here and demanding rights and privileges when they are breaking the law.  It's like someone breaking into your house eating your food, wearing your clothes and driving around in your car and thinking they have a right to do that and dare you to do anything about it.

I agree ... I think we need to stress to our politicians that we need to take care of our own first.

Our ciitzens need to be put on the top of the "help" list before the non citizens.

If they want to have the benefits of living in our country ... then apply for citizenship

Blessed are those who travel a long way looking for a better way of life and find it....when the mayflower landed on these shores all who stepped off were illegals but yet they found a way to make it their home...many who were here were killed made into slaves or made to leave the areas they had always known, now many of those people whose ancestors were here in the beginning are returning to this land and these regions........your ancestors came they had children and they to hoped for a better way of life.......why would you try and deny a better life to anyone??

I agree that citizens should be given rights when they contribute to the system. That being said if we could develop a way for illegals to gain citizenship then we could get rid of the leaks in our system allowing them benefits without any sacrifice. I would rather that then giving a free handout to those that seek refugee in our country.

It is a racket to buy votes. Citizenship means nothing, when the citizens have less advantages than non-citizens. We have to pay all the taxes, and we get no benefits that the illegals don't also get. Even our right to votes is washed away, at least our votes don't count, because the illegals also vote.
This disgraceful situation is also a slap in the face to all the immigrants who came here legally over the centuries, because Americans, and made this country great. All that they went through was in vain, since now the illegals can defy our laws and our country, come here illegally, and get everything handed to them on a silver platter.
