On this very cold birthday ..... I failed my math final..

i dont even understand.. I uunderstood most of it.. and reviewed most of it.. and practiced most of it...

That is a very false acusation. I get sick and tired of hearing that line.. This country is not in great shape and the jobs are not there even if you have a degree/ diploma... Take a garbage man for example.. He will make the same amount as a person with a degree or more! Without Debt.. Now take a fresh college graduate.. Just got their diploma.. Jobs aren't available.. and they are now in debt due to school fundings they haven't paid.. This country is to far down the pooper to make accusations like this. Diploma/ Degree is something to be proud of yes.. But it does not mean A better life.. That is very False.

Now to the topic here.. Sorry you failed your Final That really sucks.. Maybe you got nervous? Sometimes when people hear the words final no matter if they understand it they seem to lock up or freeze and fail. It's never a pretty situation when that happens because the said person feels they could have done better but sometimes it's just nothing under anyones control.. However i do want to wish you a Happy Birthday!

Either way, I might suggest that studying and going over  and understanding 'most of it' just is not sufficient. If you don't understand 'some of it' then everything from that point on CANNOT be understood, it all builds on itself. If this is the case, PLEASE go to your instructor at the first inkling of confusion or doubt you have, I think you will find them most willing to help you with getting a handle on things.

I am sorry math was always a struggle but I always studied and managed to get ok grades keep the faith and study it will happen just work hard !!!! Happy Birthday anyways

I agree. Also, I've found that in college especially, the tests tended to be more difficult than the homework assignments. It was more than just knowing how to do something (like use an equation); the test would see if you knew how to correctly apply what you learned in a new way that hadn't been discussed in lecture. So even if you knew most of it, you may not have known the material enough to apply that knowledge in a different way than what you've been shown.

Is there any chance you could talk to the instructor and ask for a re-test?  Maybe if you explained that you know the material, studied, etc., that you could have a second shot at it.  I don't know your school or instructor but it would be worth a try.  Teachers should be all about helping students learn and achieve, and unless there is a school protocol that prohibits make-up testing, the teacher may have some flexibility in this area.

I am so sorry to hear that you failed your math final but you have to give another try (really you have no choice). you get it next time just kepy going over it and get a tutor.
