When I know I have a package coming, I try to watch for them, but I do understand not everyone can do that.

My biggest problem is the boxes usually look like they ran it over :(

I think UPS has moved past fereral express.  They deliver on Saturdays and seem to have more extended hours.

I started getting over eighty five percent of my purchases through the internet and am thankful for the times that FEDEX and United Parcel Service are involved in the delivery. I know that my package will be delivered on the day that it is promised. I do not have that confidence, and comfort, with sub contractors that sellers (like Amazon) use but anticipate improvement in that arena as sellers start to invest in better delivery. I had a subcontractor that reported an item as delivered during a time that I was five feet from the door and never released it. I reported this to Amazon and offered to send them our security video for that time frame but they declined and had the item resent. The United States Post Office is a good for greeting cards and an alternative if you are in absolutely no rush to get something or if the item can be reshipped when it doesn't make it the first time.

I absolutely cringe when I am expecting a package from either FedEx or UPS. Especially like today when it is a signature required package.  Sometimes they don't even ring the doorbell they just drop the package and run.  If a signature is required they ring the doorbell and immediately take off to their truck like people are just sitting at their front door all day.  If I never had to receive a package via them again I would be the happiest person in the world. I am disabled and it takes me a few minutes to make it to the front door I made 6 calls yesterday about the cell phone coming for my son today to see if they could call me and let me know they are here so I can make it to the front door well we'll see what happens.  Anyone else have trouble with these delivery services?   :bad:

I had an issue with FedEx ONE time and I called and reported him.  He shoved the package in my mailbox which is a federal offense.  And he had something written on the box that should not have been written there.  He also punched in to his little diad that he met a woman at the front door and gave the package to her.  AND the product inside was damaged.  His superiors assured me this would be taken care of.

I prefer UPS over FedEx any day.  Although the woman delivering FedEx lately is pretty good.

If what you say is correct you need to call UPS and complain.  As for leaving packages at the door they are not required (unless they need a signature) to ring your door bell, knock, or talk to you personally. They can just leave it on the porch.

As for not waiting a long time for a person to get to the door, and running back to their truck as you say, that isn't entirely their fault.  UPS trucks have trackers on them.  They monitor how long they are at each residence. And how far they drive to go to lunch. They are being pressured to make more deliveries. Cover more ground. Therefore they have less drivers. So each driver has a bigger area to cover.  And you need to take in to consideration the massive amounts of packages they have to deliver. Everyone is ordering online now but then complains because it takes longer to get their stuff.  Unless they start delivering at night as well they aren't going to be able to keep up with the demand and keep it as fast as people want it.

You can call UPS and tell them you are disabled and could they tell the driver it takes you a few minutes to get to the door. IF they are leaving without delivering a signature required package. I am sure they can work it out. You could also try talking to the driver.  Esp if you get a lot of packages. He should be familiar with you at this point.

I've never had a problem with those two, but Amazon and USPS are usually terrible. Although one time I was expecting a package from Amazon and it was after my apartment office was closed. When the delivery guy buzzed me, I buzzed him in, thinking he would leave my package in the lobby. But he came up to the second floor and delivered it right to my door. Totally didn't expect that. I wish I would've thought to tip him.

They aren't allowed to accept tips.  He could get in a lot of trouble if he did.

I think you are confused. UPS does not deliver on Saturdays.  FedEx does however have home delivery on Saturday.  If UPS delivers on Saturday it is in limited areas and something new.

I have not had any issues with the postal service being slow. They deliver the same speed as anything else depending how what speed you choose.  First Class will move the quickest.  Book Rate will move the slowest.

I never have a problem with either one, now I do with snail mail. Of course I am lucky  our UPS person lives just down the road from us and if for some reason she can't get anyone to come to the door she will go around back and leave it out of sight and then stop by on the way home to see if we  found it.  Fedex  is very good about leaving packages also.

Our UPS driver, the regular one, knows where to put packages if we are not available when he comes. Now the FedEx guy is liable to leave it sitting in the middle of the street.

We have great FedEx and UPS delivery guys.  We have never had any issues with them.  Can't say as much about our USPS mail deliverer, though.
Have a wonderful day!

I am not too much of a fan of Fed Ex, as others said the packages look like they have been run over.  Many years back we had a great Ups driver, now they sneak in as quietly as possible and your package can spend all night out in the rain (with t'storms no place is "dry") and UPS seems to have an aversion to plastic bags  which I give FedEx credit for using. Also the driver has a problem with 724 and 742  ugh!!!   USPS does a good job, probably shouldn't say that, lol.

I am dealing with that right now.

I live in a large apt building, with a front security door, and an entrance outside the security door. it is not a fancy apt bldg, just an old refurbished hospital.

UPS and Fed Ex get lazy and can leave it outside the security door. Or they leave it in the lobby and someone coming in or out can just carry it away (has happened to me).

I try to have USPS be my option for shipping wherever possible.  A lot of places I order from, that is not the option. Or, if it is, only 2-day priority mail has to be chosen....pricey.

I even caught one neighbor looking over what was left at my door as he was walking by....Caught him red-handed.

I want to order something pricey for me soon, and dread having to deal with UPS on it.

I have vitamins coming today in the mail that I ordered USPS 2 day priority, but I know I will get it.

We don't have a problem with them (not usually anyway) My husband works from home.  From where he sits he can see traffic coming from either direction.  If it's a delivery guy he's on it... he actually waiting for them at the door sometimes before they even get to our house.  We have been having trouble with USPS recently though.  Our regular mail guy is great.  But sometimes we get some young kid filling in.  He's actually been caught throwing stuff up onto the deck... not walking up and setting it down.  Good thing nothing has been breakable (yet).
