That is a real cool story!  Hard to answer but I believe in going with the flow and thanking God as well

“I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world. . . . I have made your name known to them and will make it known.”—JOHN 17:6, 26.

2 Corinthians 4:4
4  among whom the god of this system of things*a has blinded the minds of the unbelievers,b so that the illumination* of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God,c might not shine through.d

2 scriptures there referring to gods. The TRUE one and an imposter liar.Using his name as Jesus said identifies him as the TRUE God and Satan being referred to also as a god ,false as are many others.I am sure you are aware of how Jehovah felt about false worship.Greta examples in book of Exodus after HE saved them only to see them bow down to images. He was incensed to the point it cost many their lives.Jesus said it was the first commandment to LOVE and know Gods name and have NO other gods before him.The word god is a title as lord is.You are a woman also besides a mom but you have a name. The name Jehovah is Gods personal name.NO other gods existed before him.

I hope you are a better mom then most. There is a difference to Jehovah as who the TRUE God is.I dont think it matters too much with moms.

Are you trying to be insulting?

Jesus said the greatest commandments were these-to love God, and to love your neighbor as yourself.
When he taught his disciples how to pray, he said, "Our Father.."
On the cross, he said, "Father, forgive..."

You're making it harder than it has to be.

I guess I don't ask in the right way or expecting too much.  I've never had a prayer answered. We might lose our house this year for back taxes. Just received a letter from the group that represents the school district and we have 30 days to pay up. We only owe last year's and we've already received the township taxes for this year (we were able to pay those last year).

I'm sorry.

Again, I am new to the Forum so I am not sure where I am in the conversation but we should not only pray when we are in need. Praying includes giving thanks, praying for others, praying for the world in general, praying for the beauty we are blessed to see every single day. It is called practicing your faith and it works. I have experienced it more times than I can count. What we want is not always best. God, by whatever name, will take care of it. We have free will but God knows best. (I do NOT attend church nor do I follow any religion.)

I agree.  We are told to "pray without ceasing."  What that says to me is that it is a way of life, rather than religion.  It is a way to be.

I reference the scripture for you how Jesus uses Gods name and you ask me if im insulting you!!I also reference scripture where Satan is refered to as a god.God is a title!!!

The first part of the Lords prayer is Hallowed be thy name. And you ask if im insulting you.

If you dont see it means a lot to God that his name is important to identify him as the TRUE God <which he also refers to in bible>its not worth getting into anymore.

And yes christendom,or religeon in this world is refered to as Babylon the Great. In the country Babylon when it existed and was a world power many false gods and teachings got their start and continue down to this day. Many claim to teach and live by bible but it is only lip service.Jesus said to examine them all first and compared them to fine trees and rotten trees.Bad fruit and good fruit.

Psalms 83:18 KJV reveals Gods name which doesnt seem that important to you and most of this world.

Hitch, my children call me Mom.  I know who they are talking to, and THEY know who they are talking to.
If they called me by my name, I would know who they were speaking to, and so would they.
If they called me Woman, I would know who they were speaking to, and so would they.

I Am Who I Am.

Paints,i didnt write the bible. With ALL the false gods that exist i am not sure why you find it so hard to accept the true God wants to be called by his name.Of course we can call him God or Lord if we are referring to Jehovah as the TRUE God.The world has a problem with it.

Jesus said I have made your name known.Do you think he meant just his title?

Satan is Gods enemy.Satan challenged Jehovah as a ruler.Of course he didnt challenge his power or might. His influence caused the human race to sin and die.The issue is whats better for all of us...Satanic rule or Gods rule? Why do you think it has gone on so long from our perspective.6000 yrs of dying, greed, selfishness cant be ignored.

The whole religeous system is based on Satanic influence. He has been allowed to question what is in the heart of man.

The proud Pharoah asked Moses who is Jehovah i should let his people go.Jehovah told Pharoah i have kept you in existence to show you i have long suffering and forgivness but that you will see i am God almighty.Pharoah was still haughty even after he let his people go he went after them.Jehovah buried him in the Red Sea.Do you think Pharoah knew Gods name then?

Through-out the bible false worship and bowing down to idols is NOT accepted by Jehovah. The Israelites were put to death worshipping images. Can you image how Jehovah was hurt at heart after he saved them from Pharoah...only to do that to him?Again thats why using his name and worshipping him with spirit and truth thru Jesus is the only way.Saints, the virgin Mary is NOT accepted. No one comes to the father except thru me said Jesus. He is Gods mediator.

Are you absolutely positive that you have never had a prayer answered? Do you have healthy children? Have you been able to make some extra money doing surveys?
Do you have enough to eat? I could go on but hopefully it makes sense so far. Praying is a way of life, whether we realize it or not.
Many of us practice it consciously, others do not even know that they are doing it. But it's the same thing. I think it's just a matter of paying attention.

And what about the people that dont have healthy children or enuff to eat?

Stop deciding how God is gonna answer prayers cos he says to the ones not doing the right thing even their prayer is detestable to him.The bible answers how to approach him and using his name and having faith in him doing his will is a good start.

I believe in prayers being answered, coincidence, and fate! I think they are all what you experienced here paint....and I totally believe I have experienced these also, several times. Well more than several even, too many to list here!! I don't consider myself a religious person, really, I say prayers but I don't attend church. I believe you can be spiritual and religious without going to church. I'm very thrilled for you and I hope you are making lots of bread now!! (Yum, sounds so good!!)  :)

Me too sfreeman. I wish I was rich and I would give you money to help you out. I "pray" you get something figured out, or that your "fate" is to NOT lose your home. Hugs <3

Exodus
20 Then God spoke all these words:+

2 “I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.+ 3 You must not have any other gods besides me.*+

4 “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form* like anything that is in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.+ 5 You must not bow down to them nor be enticed to serve them,+ for I, Jehovah your God, am a God who requires exclusive devotion,+ bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing loyal love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.+

Like i said earlier......i didnt write the bible. Some might ask why should God feel like this.......
Revelation 4:11 11"You are worthy, our LORD and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

I think its ok if other moms exist.Only 1 TRUE God.

This is not the first time I've had something like this happen, either.  It surprises me sometimes.
I'm baking at least once a week.  It is so much easier with enough bread pans!
