I grew up on them.  Not many made these days.  They're selling tickets for next year's Lion King.  Wish I could go.

When I was a caregiver my boss seemed to think I had a relaxing day off even if I had a client to put to bed.  I did not.  In order to be to the client on time I had to leave at a specific time.  In order to be my best for them I had to eat at a time where I wouldn't be hungry or too full while with my client.  To accomplish these two requirements I had to prepare dinner at a given time, which meant being home before that time.  This meant that if I went out for any reason I had to plan my outing and make sure I left early enough to get it done and be back by the given time.  For that to happen I had to get up with the alarm, eat and get ready by the clock.  So much for a relaxing "day off".  My whole day was determined by one appointment.  :(

Off-Topic / Re: Climate Talks - Paris

It was a total waste of time and electricity cannot be furnished with solar panels and windmills.  Fossil fuels for the foreseeable future have to be the way to go.  I can't see my car running with a little windmill pushing it along.  It's nothing but a power and control issue.  Climate is always changing and always will.  We're not going to change that ever.  There are palm tree trunks in the ice in Greenland.

Solar panels and windmills are running homes and charging car batteries, etc. already.  Some people are off the grid and even making money by selling their extra energy to the power company.

Yes, climate is variable, but man's interference has created a problem and we need to be responsible for our actions.

Off-Topic / Re: Do You Believe in Talents?
« on: December 14, 2015, 02:20:34 pm »Message ID: 1032551
I certainly don't. According to my definition, a talent is an ability that literally only one person in the world has ever had, and that's impossible, so I refuse to believe in talents.

My dictionary defines talent as a "natural aptitude or skill".  I totally believe in talents and have several.  Everyone has something.  :glasses-nerdy:

I have a lot of audio books and talks.  I love Wayne Dyer, Gregg Braden, Eckhart Tolle, etc.  They've had a positive effect on my life.  :glasses-nerdy: :peace:

I don't like the marshmallows, but I do like adding a bit of chili powder.  I've done that ever since I saw the movie "Chocolate".

No way, I want the whole egg.  It's actually healthier for you.  The yolk contains iodine and other essential nutrients.  Dr Oz says eat the yolks.  They're healthier for you than the cheese.  :glasses-nerdy:

No, that's one of the perks of being self-employed.  Though I don't remember ever having to work on Christmas day.  :snowflake: :santa:

Off-Topic / Re: Do you still mail christmas cards out to family and friends?
« on: December 07, 2015, 04:11:02 pm »Message ID: 1031067
I have a couple dozen people I send physical cards to, mostly family and a few friends.  As an artist and photographer it's good for me to design my own card each year.  I include a newsletter in most of them too.  That's a great way to keep in touch. :present: :santa:

I have many pieces of inexpensive kit furniture that I've had for years and it's all still fine.  All my bookcases, my desks, my media storage, etc.  If you take care of things they last.

« on: December 07, 2015, 04:01:59 pm »Message ID: 1031064
I don't watch news much at any time - too negative.  I start my weekdays with a local program called Good Day New Mexico, hosted by my friend Casey Messer.  She brings us local resources and events.
