I know exactly how you feel!!  A house we lived in many years ago was broken into twice.  I remember the feelings of rage and vulnerability almost as if it were yesterday.  We had a TV and two pistols stolen.  We don't live there anymore!!!  More recently, I had a purse stolen from the office I worked in.

A few weeks ago someone or some people broke into my house, through the front door! My neighbors were at work and I left to my son 1st year appt, that day. They took my Lcd Tv, dig camara. laptop and jewlery I was so mad because it was the first time it happened, I was hoping it would be recovered in a *bleep* shop but no luck. What has been taken from you??
They were probably staking out your home for awhile before that occurred.

Keep your eyes out for strangers around your neighborhood.

Be aware.

My house has been robbed many times and I do not know what to do about it. Someone told me the best way to handle these situations is not to buy what I cannot replace.

Very sorry to hear that. Me, I have never been robbed and even though I was lucky to live in a pretty good neighborhood I still bought Renters Insurance (it is a little cheaper if you get it thru your Car Insurance provider) Just be glad that they did't see you that could've been worse!   I wish you Good luck.  :(

Sorry to hear that you've been robbed...that's terrible. Look into getting an alarm system, you can do it through a electronic store or a company. Put up a camera if possible, because, some people are hit more than once. I find that a lot of times it's an inside job, meaning someone who knows the ran of your house. I don't any disrespect, because it happens all the time. Be on the look out for funny acting people.

PMZ908 I really fear that, they may kill my dog if they wanted to rob my house. That's really low to kill someone's dog while stealing their stuff...how cruel and inhumane. You used to able to say "get a job", right? My sympathy for your loss of the dog.

That has happened to me 3 or 4 times when I lived near the beach, and when Me and my children would go skiing.  We found out later that it was kids in the neighborhood that went to school with one of my children so they knew when we were not going to be home.  Soooo what I did was I faked going away and I had a friend a very, very, very, big friend stay there in the dark and he waited for them and sure enough they showed up bold as brass they kicked in the front door and he sacred the you know what out of them and he detained them until police came and rather then sending them to jail they had to pay for repairs and make restitution for what they had stolen in the past, jewelry and coin collection.  After that I never had a problem and eventually moved. I did get alot of work completed to my house thanks to the  robbers.

After I was robbed and my jewels taken I never replaced them and stopped wearing them.

One hard thing to understand was that when you report it they just tell you it was kids who seal the jewlry for drug money.

Another time I got 1100 cash robbed in a drivers license branch. Im not so sure it was not the teller person taking your information.

I was to pay rent and insurance as my landlord was also my insurance agent.

I reported it and even talked to the detective and he said. Well did you learn your lesson about carrying cash?

Then once my mom was visiting me and like she always does. She wants what I have that I like. She took my box chain gold necklace. Years later she had my brother send me a jewlry box of cheap jewlry and my box chain necklace was in it.

We live with thieves and some of them family.

i'm so very sorry to hear about all your theft-victim experiences.  it does make one feel violated, doesn't it.  never had my house broken into (it's a great advantage of being relatively poor,  no serious thief would bother).  but some neighborhood urchins helped themselves one time when we weren't locking our doors.  they took a piggy bank (sentimental value) full off wheat pennies and other old coins, emptied another large jar of coins, a package of steaks from our freezer, and a briefcase to put it all in.  our son's street hocky stick was laid across our bed upstairs, presumably due to the fact that we had a dog at the time who didn't hesitate to bite people she thought needed it.  later we heard from another neighbor kid that one of the suspected culprits had a "wound" on his *bleep*, but he never told his mom about it.  wonder why?

I know how you feel. The same thing happened to me on June 2010 on which they broke through the front door! When I went home & saw the door a jarred my blood ran cooled. They ransacked the whole house. They only took the Flat screen tv my late husband had bought us for x-mas 2007. It was our first & only flat screen tv we've ever gotten. It hurt most because it was another special memory of what me & my husband had together when he was alive. It was like the robbers took  a piece of husband from me. Just as death had taken him from me completely. The police was a total joke. They didn't bother taking the desktop computer probably too old or the thousands of books that my husband had collected over a life time  ago. Now, probably worth over several thousands of dollars. I hoped that the flat screen tv would all so be recovered in a *bleep* shop as well but the police expected me to do their job for them. The police person assigned to my case left me a message, instructing me to call him, if I have more information in the case. What a total joke, & I have not heard from them since. I'm so sorry, for what happened to you. I felt really violated when this happened to me. This was also, the first time I ever been robbed. Maybe b/c in the past, I always had a mean look dog living in the house. Even though the dog was a complete chicken, a dog the size of a small pony probably discourages any kind of home invaders. The door repair also cost me 100+ dollars & I now have a double lock. Thanks for letting me vent b/c I am still reeling from this negative experience.  >:(

I'm sorry for your loss, a friend of mine had the same thing happen and she said the little inexpensive jewelry that matched her outfits irritated her the most!  :BangHead:
