Satellite is better if you only watch TV but cable has much better options for internet and phone most of the time.  I used to pay 60 a month for DirecTV and was happy with my package and service.  But then I moved and satellite wasn't an option.  I now have Charter cable and internet (18Mb service) and only pay 71 a month...not bad either way.

I used to have cable when I was a kid, I only watched a few channels such as Disney and Nickelodeon at the time. Now that I'm older I prefer having a bigger selection of what to watch. We had Dish Network last year and that was pretty awesome, but it got expensive after the six months were up. The AMC channel, at least I think that's what it was called, was awesome since there was always a movie on.

Cable is better for one simple reason.  Thunderstorms.  The old antenna was like a lightning rod when it came to thunderstoms and we had to shut the tv whenever there was one.  When we switched to cable we could watch right through a thunderstorm.  Blackouts were anothing thing but one could watch tv if there weren't any.  You get a satelite it's the same like an antenna.  You have to shut the tv during a storm.  My brother's friend had satelite and was sorry because they are just as lethal as having an antenna.

CABLE is better. My family just switched from cable to satalite, and we're soon switching back! especially if you need to watch a WEATHER channel during a storm, We never know whats coming at us if there's clouds.

Cable is much better, it cost more and less channels but when we had satellite it would go out during every little storm  :BangHead:

When our cable channel started charging $70.+ a month for what they called an expanded basic which gave you about 10 or so extra channels besides the ones you could actually get over the air for free..so we decided it was enough. We got the indoor antenna and converter box and picked up several new channels that we just love.  We also hooked up our p/c to the tv and can pick up many other programs and movies without that extra $70 charge.

We had basic cable for internet only, no tv, the bill kept changing every month upward and it was local or federal taxes.   We went from Satelite to fiber optic.   The bill was fine for six months then it went up to 100 per month for just the television portion.  We went back to Satelite.   If you can get Satelite,  I would go with it.

I have digital cable. I like it better because I get a lot of the movie packages that satellite doesn't unless you pay extra for them
