Petition to remove jerks from the forum
« on: August 01, 2012, 08:22:14 pm »
I think there should be a system for forum members to remove jerks from here.

I agree that there are some people that only ever seem to make negative comments about other people, however, defining 'jerk' may be too relative. Good idea though.

It is too general, but I thought the idea could spread and we could work on a definition,  ;D

I think there should be a system for forum members to remove jerks from here.

You could simply remove yourself from the forums, (instead of making passive-aggressive threads), or use the "ignore" function provided by FC.  Such indirect 'calling-out' threads are inappropriate to the Suggestions forum.  Anyone who refutes you is not a "jerk" except to your ego.

I AGREE!  Anyone who thinks that we should all live our lives based on a book that was written thousands of years ago and edited and translated and re-translated countless times should be outta here!  Right on!

Heh.  Either that or, anyone who suggests that others who disagree with them being designated as "jerks" and removed from the FC forums ought to be designated as a "jerk" and removed from the FC forums?

There are rules in posting on the forums, if you violate those rules and if members notice and flag it to support most likely you will be banned from the forum, or if Kohler sees it. Other then that another opinion or criticism if not vulgar should not get to anyone! Not everyone has the the same thoughts, views, or taste on everything! This is called life!

we have a right to express   our thoughts on here as long as we are bot being vulgar, or hateful.  somethings i agree with and some things i do not, but all of us have unique veiws and exceptions of what goes on around us

Just think of the "ignore" button as the "jerk" button.  If you don't want to hear from someone, click it and you will never see their posts again.  You are in control.  Don't waste your time reading someone's posts if you don't want to.  It's really that simple!

We only remove members who are violating the rules.  Having and expressing an opinion is certainly within the rules as long as it's not hateful or discriminatory. You don't have a right to not be offended, especially since the 'ignore' button is so easy and present on every post.

What a concept.  Don't buy into other peoples stuff.  There will always be naysayers.  Just ignore them.  :peace:

I have noticed there are a few ppl on FC that think they are by far more intelligent than most but I just skip over their posts.  Might use that ignore button now that I know its there.

I think there should be a system for forum members to remove jerks from here.

REALLY?? You started this post.......as a SERIOUS suggestion or idea?  Honestly.....
I can't believe it. (Well I can, but....)

And exactly who decides WHO is the "jerk"?? A "jerk" to you may not be a "jerk" to someone else

If THAT is a good idea, then petitions should be started to remove all the posts:
* posted in the WRONG BOARD
* posted by those who have no concept or grasp of, or are unable to properly use, the English language
* that have over 50% of the words misspelled
* that are really STUPID and meaningless
(and the people posting these should be REMOVED then, also)

The list of "I want these posts/posters removed" would never end, as posts that annoy one DON'T annoy another, and vice versa.

How come it won't play?
