horror/suspense novel suggestions?

i'm looking for a few good reads ^_^
i'm a huge fan of dean koontz, finishing up 'your heart belongs to me' right now. and i love the dexter series by jeff lindsay.

does anyone have any suggestions that might interest me?
please avoid stephen king titles if at all possible ;p i'm just not a fan.

that makes me feel pretty much ecstatic! 'life expectancy' was SUCH a good one! my absolute favorites are the chris snow books ('fear nothing' and 'seize the night') have you read them? if NOT, you should definitely give them a shot! i'm quite a fan of the odd thomas books too<333. AND 'the voice of the night' i really fell in love with that one.. it's so NOT your typical koontz novel.. i've read most of his titles.. all of the ones i've been able to get my hands on anyway ;p

I am the biggest Clive Barker Fan.  If you haven't heard about him I am sure you seen movies based on his book.  Hellraiser, Candy Man, and others.  My favorite book is THE GREAT AND SECRET SHOW.  And also Theives of Always.

i've seen those movies ;p i'm not sure that i ever knew they were based on books though! those might be a pretty good read

 I hate horror novels.  I do love suspense and drama novels.  I've just discovered a new Author-Lora Leigh, I simply love all of her novels.

Its not a horror...but its a really good book. WICKED, and the sequel, Son of a Witch.....its based on the life of the Wicked Witch of the West from wizard of Oz....i hate books...absolutely hate them, and surprisingly, i read these 2 and thought they were great!!!

denver has a ton of her stuff, although i've never
read any. however, i believe there's a bunch about vampires
and the like...

i'm not sure if we've ever discussed her or not! i for sure know who she is though! she wrote the vampire chronicles! i've never read them, only saw 'interview with the vampire' .. i surprisingly didn't like it though :/ you'll have to ask D. if the book is better (?) i've got a copy of the 4th one somewhere.. picked it up at a yardsale or something.. never bothered trying to read it because i haven't read the others though..

For a real shock, stick with a couple of classics... " The lottery", and "We have always lived in the castle", by Shirley Jackson.

For suspense, Mary Higgins Clark is my favorite.

J.D. ROBB Collection. I think it's great and has some of everthing in it. Great read!

If you like horror, read Off Season by Jack Ketchum........its really really creepy yet very good.
