When I about 8-9 my first time went to an elevator.  So I got so scare and refuse to go down.  Until one of the man pass by pick me up to go down.  Until now I still have that feeling.

This is so weird - I just told my kids this story before they left for school this morning.  I was the youngest of 5.  With an 11, 13, 15 and 17 year gap between me and my siblings I was considered an only child once they were all grown up, married, in college the army etc... But before they all left the roost they were there for me to do EVERYTHING for me.  Literally, I didn't have to lift a finger or open my mouth and there was a big brother or sister there to spoil me rotten.  Moving forward, our family pediatrician told my mother I was allergic to milk and that is what caused my eczema.  That didn't stop my mother from sharing ice-cream, chocolate milk or other home made treats with milk in it.  However she did use it as an excuse for me to not have milk in school when all the other kids did.  I got water.  There were a few occasions where I was given chocolate milk.  I can remember sitting there looking at the little carton completely intimidated by it.  I'd look around and all the other kids had there's open.  There straws propped up inside them.  I on the other hand felt like everyone was staring at me because I could never get the darn thing's open.  I was scared to even try in fear I would destroy the box.  I remember sitting there thinking I'm so slow or incompetent cause I couldn't gracefully open the little cartons.  How ridiculous and silly is that?

Being afraid of the dark was the scariest until I finally figured out that nothing was there

Every night before I went to bed, I would always look under it to make sure no one was hiding there. I should have known better as I had lots of junk under my bed and no one would have been able to hide there.

When I was younger I could NEVER have my closet or bedroom door open because infinite dark space creeped me out. I guess you have a bigger imagination when youre young. Now I dont care but still prefer to be in a room as opposed to open space
