Christmas Dinner

What does everyone serve for their Christmas dinner? I need a fresh idea and could use all the help,please and thank you.

I am usually alone on Christmas. This year I am flying out Christmas afternoon to visit my best friend and I hear she is making ham!

Last year we had an Italian buffet.  We had penne pasta and spaghetti noodles. We made two sauces; alfredo and marinara, then we had seasoned chicken, homemade meatballs, Italian sausage, and shrimp so people could put together whatever they wanted. We also had breadsticks.

This year we are having Mexican with hard and soft shells, beef, chicken, refried beans, and appropriate condiments.  We are also making chicken enchiladas and a corn casserole.  Oh yes, and tator tots and a spicy cheese sauce.

Well for christmas dinner our family does a mexican spread. We love mexican food can't get enough of it.. We make our own peco.. quesadila's with and without pico.. Enchiladas.. Rice.. We make up chicken and beef to make up our own taco's as well.. refried beans to boot.. All in all it's well known in our family and we all look forward to it

I think this year, we are having dinner at my aunty's house. Usually have turkey and ham...and whatever else people feel like bringing - pasta, steak, roast duck and roast pork, etc.

Everyone brings snacky things and we "graze" all afternoon/evening/!!! Fun and easy!!!

I can't offer you any new ideas, but I do cook a lovely turkey with parsley, garlic, butter (and olive oil so it doesn't burn), s&p and a few gratings of lemon rind. I place a few streaky bacons on the top (to stop the turkey drying out) and I cook it for 20 minutes per pound at 400 F and I only take the aluminium foil off 30 minutes prior to the end to brown up nicely. I make some mean gravy with the turkey juices to include white wine, chopped tomatoes, the streaky bacon, rosemary, thyme and onion. It's Gordon Ramsey's recipe, real easy to follow and comes out a winner every time.

Im so excited to be hosting christmas eve this year! Christmas eve dinner this year for us is ham with a maple syrup bourbon glaze, potato and onion scalloped potatoes, steamed asparagus, dinner rolls, and then im making a homemade cherry chocolate yule log for dessert! Its the average dinner but I put little twists on it so its not to average

I think we are going to make lasagne and rolls and salad and the normal sweets such as coconut cake, pecan pie and christmas cookies.  Sometimes we have ham but I bought a bunch of hams on sale recently so we are getting kind of "hammed" out lol.

I always made prime rib, but a few years ago my sister stopped eating red meat.  So now I still make the prime rib, but also make fish, either salmon, cod, scallops, or flounder.

I'm making the traditional chicken dressing with cranberry sauce, bbq ribs instead of ham, loaded potatoes, corn on the cob, sweet potatoes, cheese cake, and purple grapes.

Oh! and hushpuppies instead of rolls. I'm going to buy a Christmas carol CD and light candles and make it as special as I can. I always look forward to cooking holiday feasts with my daughters but this season my sister is coming to visit!!!
