ARKANSAS little rock , once someone make a payment they give them there driver license back to them , i think they should wait least month or two to see if there going to make there payment on time.  .

yeah they should wait for a month or two, they should amend their law. because if the person will support this month because his license was taken away there is no guarantee that he will consistently pay the following months.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking here.

Most child support orders are enforced through withholding's and payment is submitted by the employer. Might not be a matter of then paying at all.

Anyway, taking away their license would be punishing them before they did anything wrong. That's not going to happen.

Not sure that I followed you correctly. However, the one thing I can say is this: you make it, you pay for it. A very simple and crude motto, I know, but it definitely applies to children. Hunt the *bleep* down and have him pay for something that he made. I can care less if he has a job or not. Let the courts be the judges of that. That is all.

Your message is incoherent. You need to reword it if you'd like people to give you suggestions. If you're talking about hunting someone down for child support, that's important I know.

That being said, I know there are a lot of men out there that are being put almost in the poorhouse because of their child support obligations. It seems to be, at times, rather unjust.

I'm also aware that many men would just as soon forget the whole thing and not pay anything at all or even be in the picture at all. Too bad. Daddies are so, so very important.

Does anyone else wonder what word has been bleeped when you see a message like this?

Is this one a B-word, do you think? Is that considered such a bad word? After all, it's just an illegitimate child or a scoundrel.

I believe the father has an obligation to provide financial support for his child.  I certainly hope you are able to get the situation resolved.

In MN, the county will first try to garnish the father's wages, but if the father is unemployed (or is not reporting to the state where he works by working "under the table"), they will suspend his license until he begins paying again (although he needn't pay off his entire debt). My GF has been going thru this hassle herself with her youngest's father (who is notorious for working on farms "under the table" in an effort to escape from paying his child support). I agree that at times it seems like the county is requiring the mother to do investigative work, like having her tell the county where he is being employed, etc. But I think they use that information in addition to their own investigations, probably with the assumption that the mother may know things that aren't readily privy to the county. For example, last spring my GF was able to steer the county in the right direction for his place of employment since her children reported that their classmates had mentioned seeing the father working at a local farm. What is frustrating is that the father has now learned how long the county will wait for child support payment until they suspend his license, so now he's gotten into the habit of waiting nearly the full length of time before providing a payment and restarting the clock (so he's never paying his child support in full, and is able to get away with it without having his license suspended).

If you can get a pro-bono (free) lawyer who feels bad for you, that would be a good step. Lawyers force court dates for deadbeat dads through subpoenas. Then if he doesn't show for court, the judge issue an FTA (failure to appear) which is a warrant for his arrest for not showing up by order of the court.

Now, the police are not going to drive over and pick him up, but if he ever gets pulled over, the police will run a warrant check and it will show up that he has an FTA for court. He'll be arrested, booked, and then released immediately by the judge, and he will then be given a new court date for his FTA. That will probably encourage him to listen to your lawyer.

A common punishment for not showing up in court is a suspended license... of course that just makes it harder for the father to make money since he can't drive around without being at risk of being arrested for driving on a suspended license.

It all boils down to how hard you have to make the court smack him around. It's his legal duty to show up at a court date.
