This morning we all heard the news about our President banning the muslim countries. What do you think about his decision? Do you know anyone detained at the airport? Feel free to show your thoughts guys.

It's only a temporary ban to have the time to assess the situation and make changes where necessary.  If you look at other countries, like Germany, who let these people in en masse and the serious trouble they're in now because of it, it's not a bad thing.  I don't understand why the liberals are going crazy since Carter did the very same thing when he was President.  Didn't hear a peep out of them then!

PS:  OBAMA was the one who CHOSE those countries considered as "terrorist" in 2011.

But it isn't a Muslim ban. The countries (not just Muslims) banned have either supported or harbored terrorists. Obama banned Iraqis back in 2011. Temporary bans are not uncommon.

We've been attacking these countries with drones for the past decade, creating this instability and refugee crisis, but now is when people get upset?

I'm really on the fence for this.  While I know bans are not uncommon this comes from a seriously hated president so all his acts whether for the good of Americans or not will be seen as a justification for furthering his dislike.  I know it only takes 1 terrorist to kill hundreds if not thousands of people and the problem is figuring out which 1 is amongst all the Muslims/foreigners from terrorist filled countries who come to this country or visit and return that are not.  It's a hard call because it is clear Trump does not want another 9/11 but on the other hand one can't assume everyone is a terrorist because of their religion or national origin or national ties.  I refuse to believe  prejudice paranoia should rule America.  So while I think we shouldn't just assume everyone is a terrorist and ban them from entry, I really don't want another 9/11 or suicide bomber killing fellow countrymen.  The only thing I can say is it's only temporary and I doubt it will go all four years of his term.

Sad to say I am one of the people who really did think 9-11 was the end of the world I know and love ... and still I worry my self sick that day every year.  And i'm happy this is happening... have the right papers and prove your not on your way here to blow things up or stay home.  These people have no love of life and will use any one even children to make a point.  I have a very good friend who works in a EMOR in AZ..  and not the same thing,  but just saying.  She told me about the drug lords who pack kids bellies with balloons filled with drugs to get them in to the USA ... and one little boy died of a heart attack because a balloon broke in his belly.  Point being people are nuts when they are on a mission to do something .. and will use what ever means needed.  The NEWS  people stir people up for ratings... but i really don't care how the people at the airport feel... We in Minnesota just watched 8 guys get sent to prison because they were planning a attack and where tied to  ISIS ...  it happened right in my back yard so to say ...  I'm happy the USA is going to be the watch dog on this and I'm all for it.

Nothing that President Trump does, or will do, will surprise me unless it makes sense, looks to be well thought out or shows empathy. Going a day without saying something abrasive will be an extreme accomplishment for him. The election choices were slim so the American public cannot be held completely to blame for the electoral choice (not popular). The president is doing what he said he would do is certainly worthy of respect for carrying out his plan. Building fences and alienating vast portion of the world were spelled out in his campaign. I was unaware of the attack on sanctuary cities but dig right in. War against legalized marijuana may be good because the illegal, untaxed market has become so profitable and current, legalized states are not applying the taxes to areas that were promised funding.

All I'm going to say at this point is that Trump seems to be doing a very good job alienating many countries, nationalities, and religions.  Let's see...Mexico and much of the Latin world, China, and now the Muslims.  Loose cannon!

And who is not to blame for his election but those who voted for him?  People could have voted for the Democratic opponent, the Progressive or Green candidate, wrote in a name, or stayed home!

Nobody wants to acknowledge Obama's role in this?

Obama signed the "Visa Waiver Program and Terrorist Travel Protection Act of 2015" restricting visas from states of concern. Obama and his advisors picked the 7 countries. Trump references this law in EO, and expands on its provisions. He did not select these countries.

The real question, is why the outrage now, and not when Obama signed the original policy into law? Where were the cries that Obama was a loose cannon?

It is not a Muslim ban. There are athiests and Coptic Catholics there too.

It is only areas with a very large terrorist population, and it is only temporary....it is time to set up an immigrant vetting that will be used for every immigrant.

Thousands and thousands have been sent in by the previous administration, with no concern for Americans' safety who was let in.

Muslims will once again be allowed in when they pass the background-check, as will every other religion.

American citizen safety has to come first. We all want our families safe.

Especially since the ban did not include people from places with which he has business ties to (Egypt, for example)....

He's definitely a poor choice for the leader of the free world, to put it very mildly. I've been in emotional shambles since his inauguration. He wants to gut the Endangered Species Act. He wants to build a wall around Mexico with taxpayers' money. He wants to defund Planned Parenthood, even though less than 5% of their proceeds go to abortion, and, so far as I understand it, federal money can only be used for abortion in cases of rape or when it's necessary for the survival of the mother---so he's basically trying to control where donations go to??? I wouldn't be surprised if this guy turned out to be the antichrist. I thought the antichrist would be more attractive and charming, but...

The 7 countries that were picked, were the top potential terror threats of the Obama administration & agreed to by Congress.  That administration should have started stricter vetting processes then.

There are over 40 "Muslim" countries... all but 7 are welcome to come currently. 

Turkey will never be banned because we have an agreement to use their air fields for our military.

How many refugees is Saudi Arabia taking in?    Zero
How many refugees is Australia taking in?  Zero

Just saying.....  the sky isn't falling.
