Moles in yard
« on: June 13, 2017, 11:52:40 am »
Anybody have suggestions for getting rid of moles in the yard?  They are terrible in our yard!  I bought some stuff that you sprinkle on the grass, then water it and the smell is susposed to drive them away.  It may have worked for a few days but now they're worse than ever.  We have a house dog that uses the backyard so we have to be careful what we use.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would go to your county extension office and see what they are using.  Really hard to get rid of.  We had three ring vermints one year and the only way we could get rid of them was trapping .  Once we got  our dog they seemed to disappear think our dog was chasing them so much they moved out,

We had them a few years back and we had to find the main holes and used poison peanuts that we purchased at ACE Hardware.   We have 2 dogs and they did not bother with them guess they did not like the smell either.  Try a nursery center too they may be able to help

I've always heard that washing dogs in tomato juice will get rid of the skunk smell better than anything.

I've never really tried it myself so I don't know if it works or not, but it's worth a shot. I don't have a dog and haven't had one for quite a while.

I gave up trying to get rid of moles in the yard. Now I just leave them alone and let them keep eating all the slugs and/or whatever else it is they eat in they yard until all that yummy food is gone.  :P Then they'll leave for better pickens.

It makes for a yukky yard for a while, but it's a lot less expensive and frustrating!

I've not had a mole.  But my sibling did so I bought him a sonar pest control device for moles & it did drive the mole away.  Was only one  & in his front yard flower bed.   Now it is gone :)

I don't have any this year. You can buy stuff at the hardware store to get rid of them

We had moles last year.  We bought some mole poison from Bomgaars....the poison was put down inside the tunnel where the big mound was.  Moles were gone shortly after.

so far we haven't had any of them little things this year.  but have had them in the past.  I remember I had one cat that loved them and would catch them and bring them to my back door LOL   We were afraid to put any thing in the holes to kill them just because of our cat :(  But he was a good catcher of them  Ha Ha

I have an electronic mousetrap in the garage...takes 4 AA batteries...smear some pnut butter inside, close door and flip the switch.
When they go in, they step on two metal plates...ZAPPPPPP! Dead!

Flashing light shows you caught something.

Weird thing is last year I caught 4 mice and 8 moles in the garage!
Thought moles only stayed underground!

So far this year haven't caught anything.

My neighborhood is full of ground hogs. More this year than last. I need to start trapping them.
