I think that I laugh less than 15. As adults I think we need to stop being so serious and take the time to laugh more. Even if we laugh at ourselves.

If an adult laughed 300 times a day You'd know that person was a headcase. You  can be happy without being a laughing Hyena.

A  good laugh is good for your health but 300 is a bit much

I had no idea a six year old laughs an average of 300 times per day.  What a joyful sound.
As adults, we do get more serious.
I am lucky that my 3 and 1 year old grandchildren live with us.  I get to laugh a good bit every day.

I love the sound of a child's deep belly laugh that is uncontrolled.  But when adults get that belly laugh going and it's uncontrollable I do find it obnoxious and irritating.  I know I could use some more laughter in my life.  Lately we've been so serious about everything.. work and home.  I'd say it's time to relax a little and let out some giggles.

How could anyone possibly laugh 300 times a day? Does each "ha ha" sound count as one laugh?  I know little ones tend to giggle often but that seems like an impossibly high number of laughs.

I have a quote on a magnet that says, "The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."  I understood it to mean you should laugh at least once a day - similar to "an apple a day keeps the doctor away."  I wouldn't recommend eating 3-5 apples each day to make the doctor stay even further away.  If you eat 15 apples a day, you'll probably never see a doctor again - because you'll turn into an apple!

Once when I was around 8 years old I laughed for maybe 20-40 minutes straight. I laughed so hard that I couldn't remember what was so funny.  My mom was saying, "Tell me, I want to laugh too!" and I was like "but I don't remember..."  I was never able to remember; it was something my teacher said and it probably wasn't even funny; I just started to laugh and couldn't stop, like a case of the hiccups won't stop.

Here's another funny stat: human adults are supposed to pass gas (i.e. fart) up to 14 times per day.  I don't know what the number is for children.  Maybe people laugh every time they fart, and one extra time, resulting in a total of 15 laughs per day?

Maybe silent laughs count!  I see lots of people smiling when reading messages on their phones and I'm sure they do that several times a day.

In order to laugh you have to be ALIVE.  Sending jokes is healthy, but it's important to spend some sharing and reading serious things too.

Thus I hereby repost verbatim old buddy's "this could save a life" post.  It isn't very fun to read, but if you use it you might be like, "HA! I didn't die."  Here it goes:

 1. Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.
 2. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.
3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.
 4. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.
 5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
 6. How to survive a heart attack if you are alone. Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
 7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
 8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
 9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
 10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.
 11. Rather than sending jokes, please... contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.
 12. If this message comes around you... more than once… please don’t get irritated... You should instead, be happy that you have many friends who care about you & keeps reminding you how to deal with a Heart attack.

Because 6 year olds think every thing is funny haha.  And adults have a lot of stress and stuff and don't think as many things are as funny as kids do.

I believe this might be true. However, I beat the statistics because I spent an hour and a half at improv practice where I laughed at least 5 times that number.

Ever hear actress Catherine Keener Laugh (you would not consider that joyful if you heard it once a day,300 times a day you'd  pierce your eardrums with screwdrivers to go deaf)
