Hope and pray everything works out soon.  Some people are not concerned about things until it hits close to home.

Is this directed at me? If you google the virus and if you talk to medical professionals this is not something new.  People have it all the time.  If there was a major pandemic of the flu they would do the same thing.  Try to contain it.  In my area the flu is pretty bad.  They are not trying to ban people to their homes but all the schools in my area are closed.  Yes, I hope it does not get bad here like in China.  If it does I can ban myself to my home. lol  But I see no need to be in a panic at this point.  11 people out of millions and millions is not that many.

My daughter and her husband have tickets to the summer Olympics in Tokyo and I am really anxious about their going to that because of the corona virus spreading so quickly in Asia.

Tokyo is in Japan.  The coronovirus is in China.  I had not heard of any cases in Japan yet.  There are 11, last I heard, confirmed cases in the United States.  Scary is if you live in the towns where these people are - they were out and about for days before they showed symptoms and were diagnosed.  And right now when you have a snotty nose people are going to think they have a cold - not this virus.  It is not like it is the first thing you are tested for.

I would be leery about traveling any where esp something like that but in different circumstances it sounds fun and would be a big deal to be able to say you were there.  It amazes me at how many people travel to China.

I read this morning that the doctor that discovered the virus (and was imprisoned for reporting it) has died from the virus.  It is spreading quite quickly outside of China.  No one coming from China should be allowed in the US until the virus subsides.
Have a wonderful day!

It is spreading to other countries.  Everyone may not be reporting it to keep fears down.  North Korea has not reported a case yet and they do a lot of business with China.

There was immediately another report that said he did not die.  He is just really sick.  So you really do not know.  Back to the "fake news".  It is too late to just say stop people coming from China.  It is already here in the US.  And the people who had the virus were all over their towns before they knew they had it.

Listening to the news, it virus seems to be in China only.  But what if someone leave China and comes to America and have the virus.  I do hope CDC or the equivalent find the cure for this disease.

Where are you hearing this?  It is in several countries.  There are 11 cases in the United States.  Two of the people had never been to China.  But had been in contact with someone who had been and came back and had the virus.  That is what can be some what scary.  You have no idea who you are in contact with from day to day.  You can be a carrier for up to 2 weeks before you show symptoms.

It's scary.  My state is among those that will be accepting quarantine people for a period of time.  They say that these people have been tested (negative) for the virus.  Still need to be quarantined for a while.  Hope they remain healthy.

I am sure next year this time there will be a new virus for everyone to worry about and the news media will be more than thrilled to spread it or I mean report it to each and everyone. >:(

The Coronavirus isn't a new virus but we must look at the news and be aware of the spreading of it. There were a whole cruise ship on lockdown with Americans onboard with the virus.

This is a new strain of coronavirus which has made treating it difficult.

Quarantined does not mean they have it.  If you are talking about like where they have been in the area and are showing NO symptoms.  I would be more worried about random people you come in to contact with.  Seems this is more contagious that they are verbally admitting.  And more dangerous as well.  It amazes me at how many people regularly travel to China.  They come back and go here and there and someone is exposed, has no idea, they travel about and expose more people.  Where does it stop.

I saw a graph that placed Corona along with other common illnesses in terms of how fatal and contagious the are, and it was right by the regular flu. I haven't heard a lot about what kind of people have died from it but I suspect for most with healthy immune systems it's not quite a death sentence.
