I am glad everyone knows everything and thinks that what they would have done is right. None of you people are in office so what do any of you know.

Ha! Right? Everyone seems to think they know how to run an entire country.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but bashing everything my President does is not helping anyone. There is already WAY too much panic going on.

Have you ever tried being the President, especially one that has a party that fights him every inch of the way. Perhaps with a little help from his friends (the Dems), we could have done better.

What we need to do now is to pull together. Our country may be even stronger when we show we can beat this thing. But we have to be together; not divided. We definitely cannot go back and change anything that has already happened. We need to start from where we are now and finish strong. We have done it before.

United, we stand. :highfive: Divided, we fall.  :bad:

You are SO wrong.  (This will be long but it needs to be put out there to stop the lies.) The time line is very clear how involved Trump was with the development of this virus.  China didn't tell anyone about this virus that started in November or maybe even earlier....until they told W.H.O about the Wuhan virus 12/31/2019. WHO declared a "public-health emergency of international concern on JANUARY 30, 10 days AFTER the first case hit Washington state from a person from WuHan. Trump called the CDC and health experts to implement plans around that time.

January 17; The CDC began implementing public health entry screening at the 3 U.S. airports that received the most travelers from Wuhan – San Francisco, New York JFK, and Los Angeles.

January 20; Dr. Fauci announces the National Institutes of Health is already working on the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus.

January 29: the White House announced the formation of the Coronavirus Task Force to help monitor and contain the spread of the virus and provide updates to the President.

President Trump banned foreign nationals from entering the US if they had been in China within two weeks prior on January 31. Of course, TDS media called him a racist for doing it. He also declared the virus to be a [ib;oc  health emergency.

February 4: President Trump vowed in his State of the Union Address to “take all necessary steps” to protect Americans from the coronavirus.

February 6: The CDC began shipping CDC-Developed test kits for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus to U.S. and international labs.

February 9: The White House Coronavirus Task Force briefed governors from across the nation at the National Governors’ Association Meeting in Washington.

February 11: The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) expanded a partnership with Janssen Research & Development to “expedite the development” of a coronavirus vaccine.

February 12: The U.S. shipped test kits for the 2019 novel coronavirus to approximately 30 countries who lacked the necessary reagents and other materials.

February 14: The CDC began working with five labs to conduct “community-based influenza surveillance” to study and detect the spread of coronavirus.

February 18: HHS announced it would engage with Sanofi Pasteur in an effort to quickly develop a coronavirus vaccine and to develop treatment for coronavirus infections.

February 24: The Trump Administration sent a letter to Congress requesting at least $2.5 billion to help combat the spread of the coronavirus.

February 26: President Trump discussed coronavirus containment efforts with Indian PM Modi and updated the press on his Administration’s containment efforts in the U.S. during his state visit to India.

February 29: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allowed certified labs to develop and begin testing coronavirus testing kits while reviewing pending applications.

February 29: The Trump Administration announced a level 4 travel advisory to areas of Italy and South Korea,
barred all travel to Iran, and barred the entry of foreign citizens who visited Iran in the last 14 days,

March 3: The CDC lifted federal restrictions on coronavirus testing to allow any American to be tested for coronavirus, “subject to doctor’s orders.”

March 4: Secretary Azar announced that HHS was transferring $35 million to the CDC to help state and local communities that have been impacted most by the coronavirus.

March 6: President Trump signed an $8.3 billion bill to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

The bill provides $7.76 billion to federal, state, & local agencies to combat the coronavirus and authorizes an additional $500 million in waivers for Medicare telehealth restrictions.

March 9: President Trump called on Congress to pass a payroll tax cut over coronavirus.

March 10: President Trump and VP Pence met with top health insurance companies and secured a commitment to waive co-pays for coronavirus testing.

March 11: President Trump announced travel restrictions on foreigners who had visited Europe in the last 14 days,
Directed the Small Business Administration to issue low-interest loans to affected small businesses and called on congress to increase this fund by $50 billion, directed the Treasury Department to defer tax payments for affected individuals & businesses, & provide $200 billion in “additional liquidity, and met with American bankers at the White House to discuss coronavirus.

March 13: President Trump declared a nation emergency in order to access $42 billion in existing funds to combat the coronavirus, public-private partnerships to open up drive-through testing collection sites, a pause on interest payments on federal student loans.

I guess you know it from here. I don't know why people would even read WaPo sincey the brag about trying to take Trump down and since it's owned by Jeff Bezos, who has TDS, it figures WaPo would have no fear of trashing Trump or lose their $$ or get fired by Bezos.

Exactly! just no leadership at the top; that's why individual states are taking matters in there own hands to try and protect the citizens of their states as best they can.

Toddler in Chief basically has told the governors from day one that you're on your own.  Find you own solutions.

I love it! He NEVER said that!!! He told the states that they need to take steps to help their people. It's called responsibility. The federal government is not the solution to every problem, nor is it the "babysitter.".  Funny how they'll take the initiative on making their state a sanctuary or a mayors will take the initiative to make their city a sanctuary, but they'll sit and wait for the "babysitter" for other problems, especially if it costs money. State governments know what they need. The federal government doesn't and it was up to them to try to get the equipment with the backing of the federal government, not wait for the federal government. Some took the initiative but others didn't.

The president is going way too far. He is making the travel ban to restrictive. He should at least pass a bill to speed up the process of finding a vaccine and a cure for Covid-19.

Don't need to pass a bill to speed up the process of a vaccine and cure. They're already doing trials for a vaccine and there are 3 different drugs in use for years that may be a cure for COVID19.  As Trump said yesterday on those drugs, "What can it hurt to try them?" At least we'd all know if they'd work or not. In the meantime, the labs have been hard at work to find a cure but it doesn't come easy or quickly. They're (the labs) are quoting it may be a year before they find one.

It's easy to be an armchair politician. Maybe every step taken has not been perfect but hindsight is 2020 and I don't see how (in general, not just with covid19) countries are expected to know how to respond while still in the early stages. Do we shut down all travel and business every time there's a new contagious illness somewhere in the world? I don't know how this stuff works but I would imagine that happens regularly.

Kudos to those of you who recognize the good work of our President in this terrifying time. To those of you who continue to bash everything he does, a bucket of shame is poured upon you. :-[ You do not know whereof you speak. Or perhaps you have the aptly named Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Credit should be given where credit is due. Do you think you could handle the contagion yourself by advising the president? Or would you rather trust the most godly president we've ever been privileged to have and the people who are assisting him?

I cannot believe how calm he is in the face of constant criticism. We could all learn from his behavior and demeanor.  I personally could not be more proud of my President. I'm sorry for those of you who do not have confidence in him. I truly trust and believe in my heart that he has the best interests of the American people in mind.  :star:

What is amazing to me is how anything and everything negative that has happened since 2016 is 100% Trump's doing and how he has never made any good or helpful decisions except to his own personal benefit and to the direct detriment of everyone else in the nation. He has put African Americans back into slavery; he has transformed all women into barefoot and pregnant baby machines; he has personally tortured and killed every single immigrant he encountered (illegal or not); and he laughs at those suffering from the corona virus refusing to offer the slightest bit of help while he sits on his isolated throne.

I've said it before and will say it again. If you refuse to give even an ounce of credit to Trump for anything, then you are the problem; you are brainwashed; and you are, quite frankly, an idiot. If you heap more criticism that credit on Trump, but are willing to concede that he has done a few things right and many more things wrong, I strongly disagree with you, but we can at least have a conversation about it and I don't consider you to be the problem or a brainwashed idiot.
