Okay, so I'm getting ready for my trip to the Bahamas. This is my first cruise and wanted to know what kind of clothes do you pack for a cruise?

I just came back from there. My advice is take plenty of shorts, but some pants and hoodies. At this time of year you never know what kind of weather you will get. We had a lot of rain. Also it can get very cold on the ship. Also if you can do it, pack some bottled water and straws. Try not to drink directly ftom the cups. Just a heads up. Hope you have a great time.

I would pack some shorts.  Also some dressy pants to wear to dinner if you go in the dining room for supper.  My favorite is the Captain's Dinner.  I always wore a formal dress for that night.

Depends on the cruise. I usually bring sundresses, one nice dress, a pair of loungewear, a pair of jeans. heels, sandals and a pair of running shoes... swimsuit. I have never been on a really "fancy" cruise though.

You're going to a hotter destination, so the majority of your wardrobe will cater to this type of condition, such as shorts and t-shirts. To my knowledge the majority of ships also have a more formal area where they require to dress a little bit better for dinner. However, if you want to skip this requirement ships do have buffets even during these periods as they anticipate some people who do not want to participate in more formal dress codes.

It's the Bahamas!  Dress comfy and enjoy.  Don't forget to try the doubles.  Just ask for it when you get to the islands, they'll know.

Like others said, shorts/t-shirt, and a set or 2 of nice/dressier clothes for the formal night(s).  In addition to that, don't forget a swimsuit.  Also if you are planning any offshore excursions, bring a good pair of walking shoes (close toe).

Another thing is to have a light jacket, sweater or sweatshirt handy.  If you want to go on deck at night, the air does get pretty chilly when the sun goes down.

I love the Bahamas.  That's where we went on our honeymoon.  It was nice weather then, but we went during hurricane season.
