Milk prices are artificially low, which is why they will rise soon.  I live in PA, where prices are so low, the farmers are subsidized to the point of the ridiculous.  Let the market dictate the price and we will see it adjust and fluctuate to where it should be.  In the meantime, I'll be purchasing my dairy where I've been purchasing it before, which is from farmers who sell raw/unpasteurized milk.  That market works like a charm.

The House and Senate today developed a short-term farm bill extension that would keep the price of milk from skyrocketing.  They could vote on it as early as tonight.

I hope the price won't get that high or a regular milk drinker like me will sure cut down.

First of all, I think the whole fiscal cliff thing is a clever trick played on the American people by the dems and Repubs.

I hope milk doesn't get that high. It would be a real strain on the my brother's family as he has 4 boys and they all love to drink milk. Also, it would probably mean that everything else would rise as well.

Greed will out every time.  I know dairy farmers have to make a living also, but the stores mark the prices up 500% because it's always money first and people way down on the totem pole.  I feel sorry for families who have to by Milk for their families to drink.  They will need an extra job just to buy Milk.

Whoa!... I hope that doesn't happen because I LOVE milk! It's already about $3.99 & we have to wait to buy it when it's on sale @ Walgreens for about $3.00. That's already too high!  :angry7:

I love milk but I don't drink it as much as i should.  I usually need it more for cooking.  $7.00 a gallon is extremely high....I'm scared more prices will go up in 2013 if the economy continues on a downfall.  Best wishes to everyone in the New Year...
