You know why that it is making the News!!Because the Govt wants a deal on the FC. Your money is going to them anyway, weather the govt gives it to them in farm subsities or you pay for it in price at the grocery store. This is what people don't understand -let the private market work instead of giving all these companies govt subsities. Do you know that GE, probably the largest company in the US did not pay any taxes in 2011 because of all the subsities and write off's. If they paid their fair share and we did not give all this money out to everyone we could probably save thousands on our taxes and then we would not worry if the milk went up to $7 a gal. GE groses about 20B a year. The Govt is telling the farmers not to produce milk and giving them money not too produce, how does that work for you!!We have more milk in this country and also exports than we can consume, that is why the Govt is paying the farmers to cut back on the production.!!

Yikes! That is insane expensive! Lucky for me I am only spending around $3 for gallon, I couldn't imagine paying $7.

I use powdered milk as I usually only use it in cooking, baking, and some with cereal.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"

I don't think we will see this.  The whole fscal cliff thing is a bit of a political snow job. They all know exactly what is happening and they have had over six years to come up with a solution. Just OB trying for more splash.

Milk causes diabetes and obesity any way. It really is not as good for you as we have been led to believe.

Our milk has been running on average about 2.89 if it does go up higher I don't know what we are going to do. We are already on a tight budget.  :sad1:

I don't think the fiscal cliff would have caused a huge difference in the price of milk, but the ongoing drought throughout the Midwest will certain cause an uptick in dairy prices in the future.  The price won't double, but it will go up.

And here we were concerned about gas prices. This is absolutely ridiculous. What kind of world are we living in that it costs your life to survive. This is an outrage. There are still people that don't even make 7.00 an hour. This is an outrage.

I hope it doesn't get that high, that's ridiculous! Peanut butter is almost $5 for a decent sized jar as it is.
