Off-Topic / Re: What will you plant in your 2020 garden?
« on: February 21, 2020, 07:53:09 am »Message ID: 1313660
I would love to plant a spring garden. The problem is, because of my arthritis I can't get down to the ground anymore. My knees just won't take it. So now I'm thinking about having a raised garden, but I'm hesitant to put the money into one of those wooden table-like things (don't know what they're called). I don't know, maybe I'll start really small and then see if I want to go to something bigger next spring (or fall). But I would definitely plant at least cucumbers, tomatoes, and zucchini if I did have a garden!  :peace:

I hope you do try a raised garden! I wish I was there to help you set one up, it makes me sad to hear of anyone wanting to garden & being unable. If you know anyone who's handy, I bet you could build one for cheaper than the kits.

Is the beginning of the year usually a scarce time on FC? I've been here a couple years but I can't remember a pattern.

I'd probably have to say Italy so I could see where my family comes from. But Ireland looks very pretty too.

It's still early but I'm getting itchy to start planting! I'm trying a few kinds of hot peppers this year, I started the seedlings indoors several weeks ago, they're slow but it's still a head start. Also doing my usual squash, pumpkins and herbs.

What will you be growing this year?

Seems like we get less of that stuff in the mail the past couple of years. I love when I can find a bogo for breakfast sandwiches, that stuff is unexpectedly expensive at fast food places so I don't usually get it unless I have a coupon.

That's a good idea and a more reasonable solution than just saying that medical care shouldn't cost so much in the first place. Well that problem isn't going to get solved overnight so in the meantime this sounds helpful.

Interesting. Maybe it has something to do with the Coronavirus, seeing if people are travelling less or something.

I find my hair is awfully staticky if I use just shampoo and no conditioner. With conditioner it's much better. No fancy products or leave-in stuff.

I'm in the same location as always but having a terrible struggle finding even 1c a day in the videos page. Today there are a couple of the "engage within the site, repeat 4x per day" ones but they only pop up a broken white page that does nothing and pays nothing.

I never left my hometown but it seems like everyone else I ever knew did, so now most of my friends are long distance. Honestly that's fine by me.

So nice to see an actual video again haha! Unfortunately it's the only one available to me today so it doesn't look like I'll be reaching my 5c.

The Pillsbury tubes are pretty blah I think. I recently tried frozen rolls called Sister Schubert's and I like those a lot, but I wonder if making my own would be cheaper if I wanted them that often.

I got a call from my own number last month. I know why they spoof numbers, but I wonder why they bother calling the same number they're spoofing. Maybe a few people answer out of curiosity.

I saw a graph that placed Corona along with other common illnesses in terms of how fatal and contagious the are, and it was right by the regular flu. I haven't heard a lot about what kind of people have died from it but I suspect for most with healthy immune systems it's not quite a death sentence.

I'm barely getting 1 or 2 cents per day on videos now. Those quiz things are way way too long to do for 1 lousy cent plus the last time I tried out of desperation, I got most of the way through and it said "error" and I just had to give up.
