Off-Topic / Re: What is your favorite places to shop for grocery?

I prefer a local food chain, Stauffer's because they have locally grown organic produce in season, good prices and great selection. I sometimes stock up at BJ's on staples. I will not buy food at Walmart.

From Pop Warner football right up to the NFL players are told to hit and hit hard the opponent. That's nothing new. To be paid a bounty for injuring another player crosses the line.

Off-Topic / Re: Which is better Netflix or Hulu?

I have both Netflix and Hulu which I stream to my TV using a Roku . They are pretty equivalent but if I had to give up one of them it would be Hulu because of the commercials. Netflix is reliable when I have streamed and it has more programming in my opinion.

When he is elected for his next term it will be for four years, not three.

I am an avid reader and really don't understand people who don't read. I like most anything that is well-written, informative or just plain relaxing--so I don't stick to any one genre. What makes me happiest is that my 3 young grandsons have developed a love of reading, something that will enrich them and stand them in good stead over the years.

I've lived in both over the years and each has its attractions. My choice is to live in the country where it's so much more peaceful--but close enough to a city to take advantage of all that has to offer. So, I live in the country but can be in Philly in 40 minutes.

I think most parents are mindful that what they say about their child can stay with them for life and reinforce the positive. It is more likely strangers remarks that are hurtful. The parents who do put down their children for whatever reason should not have been parents to begin with.

I would set up trust fund to ensure my grandsons college education and then a start in life. Lord knows what it will take by the time they are ready for it.

Off-Topic / Re: Changing the clocks...
« on: March 11, 2012, 10:25:59 am »Message ID: 503725
I think the original intent of the time change had something to do with giving farmers a longer day in spring and summer, which is their growing season.
That being said, my daughter found a way yesterday to "fool" her boys, 9 and 7 yr old twins. She set all her clocks ahead at 5 pm. That was fine until they noticed that the computer and Ipod had the correct time and they questioned it. Her response was that they all change at midnight :).  That worked  and only a little white lie.
