it’s always your fault.

I got into a fight with my mother today because she is more like her father than her mother.  The only time it pays to be like my grandfather is when someone in the family dies.  In the case of today it was wrong.  We come back from Big Lots! and that’s when she notices the topaz bracelet I gave her last Christmas is missing.  The first thing out of her mouth is, “the next time you buy me a piece of jewelry make sure it has a good clasp.”  Notice that?  She didn’t lose it.  It fell off because I didn’t get her a good jewelry piece.  Of course I got mad and told her that the clasp locks in place and you can’t get better than that.  She goes on about how she almost lost it in the toilet.  I just get madder and she ends up saying she’s sorry but not for accusing me of being the cause the bracelet is gone but because in her mind I am mad because she lost a gift I gave to her.  My younger brother says its all petty crap and I should let it go.  It still made me mad for the next two hours.
