From a medical and physiological standpoint, sometimes nature makes mistakes. There are people born with mixed chromosomes ( both male and female.) Sometimes they will physically resemble one sex, but emotionally identify with the other sex. Parents are mixed up, the kid is mixed up from a young age. The parents may dress the child as a boy, when really the mixed chromosomes make him act and feel like a girl. This is a person who would deserve a sex change operation if desired.

There are some interesting pictures (graphic) of people who have sex change operations..you can barely tell. Interesting to look at.

Is it natural? Should someone have the right to do this? What are your thoughts.

No, its not natural!! It's sick in my opinion!!  :BangHead:
Yet again, I don't like to judge anyone. Everyone can choose to do what they want with their body. I just don't understand how someone could go through a change like that. Seems like it would take a ton of money and a huge strain of the person's emotional and physical stability. I couldn't go through something like that.

Great post, thanks

So some background for you all, scientifically there are 7 genders. There is NOT only male and female. Intersex is one of the genders however you don't hear about it in the news which is sad because then society forms a common knowledge based television instead of facts. Most people, and I do mean 60% or more are born intersex. What that means is there is more than one set of genitals within in the body during growth in the womb. When a baby is born it is the DOCTOR in most states that decides based on size charts whether the baby is a boy or girl. Because of this the public has no understanding of the 7 genders, a fear of transgender (which is another one) and create fear based political campaigns against innocent people.
In most states, like Tenessee doctors are not required to tell you if your baby is intersexed. They just snip or sow as they deem fit.

It is more common than most people realize and nothing to be crazy about.

To those who say its unnatural:

You know what else is "unnatural"? Medicine, Vaccines, Operations, Organ donations, Flying machines, Toasters, Headache Medication, Hotdogs, and sunglasses. Just because something isn't natural doesn't mean its a bad thing. You know what is natural? Viruses, Dangerous animals, Radiation, Heat Strokes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Volcanic eruptions. All of these things can be good or bad (many times both depending on the situation.) Whether something is unnatural or not has absolutely no bearing whatsoever whether or not its a "good" or "bad thing. Just because something isn't "natural" doesn't mean it should be shunned or looked down upon.

I would have though my fellow human beings where not so near sighted and bigoted as to have realized this. I obviously thought wrong.

Are you suggesting that your first statement is not a judgmental statement? There's nothing wrong with judging others and forming opinions of others. Its natural and healthy and we do it all the time (as indicated by not only the post I make but by the post of others including yours.) As long as you respect the rights of others any guilt you may feel from judging is misguided and probably resulted from someone else's insecurities about being judged.

I think it's fine. If it makes that person happy then by all means go ahead. I wouldn't want someone to have to pretend that they don't care about it if they really do care.

God made us and we shouldnt change that

[sarcasm] This is exactly what I believe. We should not have developed vaccines that helped cure wide-spread viruses that where killing millions of people, all cancer patients should be left out to die, surgery should not be practiced, cosmetics should be banned, clothes should not be worn, and all man-made objects should be destroyed while we all live in caves because that's how god created us and anything god didn't create is ungodly and therefore evil.[/sarcasm]

I don't think sex changes are for everyone.  If God had wanted women to act like men and men to act like women, He would have made you that way from day one.  Taking a boy, dressing him like a girl and expecting normalcy out of it is like setting that child up for trouble.  I had a daughter, but I treated her like a girl.  I have a niece who dresses like a boy because she weht through problems when she was growing up.  I believe that society has changed the way people are supposed to treat people.  It is sad, really. :star:  :icon_rr:
