Lose weight no. I'm already thin but I need to tone up for sure. When I eat junk it goes to my belly and gives me a sloppy look. When I eat healthy the weight is much more proportioned. Everything looks better.

I never "diet" to lose weight.  I've never really been concerned with my weight because I'm typically highly active and usually eat very healthy.  A few years ago I decided to voluntarily rehab a malfunctioning hip rotator that was keeping me from achieving my goals in a sport.  During the rehab I've had to severely reduce my normal activities and as a result, my weight slowly increased.  I was never concerned about the increase, and it's quite common for that to happen.  I was finally cleared at the beginning of the year to be able to start doing some of my normal cardio activities and I've already started seeing my weight start to come down.  I have full confidence when I'm finally back to full speed everything will sort back out to my regular weight in no time.

For me - it's all about the exercise - when I don't, my weight goes up, when I do, my weight goes down.

Wow that was great.  A lot of people try to lose weight and they can't.  Hope you have a good day.

That's terrific that you have been able to lose so much weight!  My weight goes up and down - I lose some for a vacation or special event, then the pounds seem to start creeping back on. The holidays are my downfall.  So am trying again now.

I am considering a new diet but its hard since my caregivers don't always follow it

Since your caregivers don't always follow it?  I am not being smart but you can't feed yourself?  You can't eat what you want or not eat if you don't want something?  I have people who weigh more than me who give me a lot of flack about ME wanting to loose weight.  And it makes me so angry.  I am thinking "just because YOU need to loose more weight than me does not mean "I" don't need to loose weight".  Or people who say things to me like "oh you can eat whatever you want to and not gain weight".  If I disappear for a while I may be in jail cause I swear I am about ready to hit somebody for making those comments to me.  NO I can't eat whatever I want.  And I gain weight if I smell food.  I don't even have to actually put it in my mouth. lol.

Sorry for the rant.  It must be the hunger talking. lol.  I have actually had people who weigh less than me talk about being on a diet and when I say I am too trying to loose weight they are like "you don't need to loose weight".

So I am trying to just diet and no one really knows but my mom.  She encourages me.

Since December of 2013 I went from 210 pounds to 159 1/2 pounds and I feel great. I am retired but feel much younger and people don't believe how old I am. My goal is to weigh 140 pounds but I will be satisfied with 145 to 150 pounds. I would also like to mention my blood pressure is normal, my sugar level is normal, and the only thing I have wrong is I am lactose, and have acid reflex which I don't take medication for these problems.

I don't believe in the word "diet."  A diet is a temporary change attempting a lasting result. You need to make a lifestyle change if you want to lose weight and keep it off.

For many years I have been obsessed with the number on the scale. It's unhealthy. I am athletic and healthy and at a normal weight and yet I still let the scale run my life. I stopped weighing myself after the new year and I'm happier. Mostly eat right and exercise and you won't need to "diet."

That's so awesome.  I need to lose weight too.  I can't believe I let it get this bad.

I'm always struggling to keep my weight in check.  I'm back at it now, and trying to eat less processed foods and drink more water.  Also exercising more, which is hard for me to stick to, but it makes me feel better.

The doc just told me my cholestrol is pretty high for my age (26) so I am currently trying to diet and exercise. I am not overweight just haven't been eating right.
