Do you go to church on Sunday
« on: July 12, 2015, 07:41:30 am »
I normally am in church right now but since my hubby is working today I slept in and I'm going to visit my mom today.  I miss not being at church because first of all I love God and want to hear the message but also it gives me comfort and energizes me for the week ahead.

I feel the same way countrygirl12. I know I should go, but don't care much for the people.

@Kay0338 - The church I use to go to the preacher was always saying stuff about what he saw people doing on his way to church.  Aka, mowing their yards, out shopping, etc.  I also know for a fact that he and his wife both done things to run people out of the church.  Ever since when I hear people talking about people who don't go to church I always think "Step back and ask yourself if you personally are responsible for anyone not being at church".  Of course everyone would say no.  I grew up in church and have went all my life but lately there is just too much drama and politics.

I am a christian and I love God but I have no use for church.  I have never been to a church where there didn't end up having some kind of trouble or change the way they did stuff.  I pray every day, my sons and I read the bible together almost every day (depending on younger sons work schedule) so no I don't go to church.  I agree with countrygirl12 too much drama and politics has been my experience.

I go to church nearly every Sunday....aside from my weekends that I work that prevent me from attending.

I was raised in a certain denomination.  I belong to the local church of that same denomination.   I do not always feel like I have my spirit fed there.  So I also attend another non-denominational church in our town.

I love going to this church.  The message is presented in such a way that it is very understandable and personal and applicable.

God is good.  He is everywhere and can be worshipped in more places than just in a church.  I pray continually....at home, inside, outside, on a walk, in the car....and yes, in the church.

I try to get at least every Sunday, although I sometimes miss on occasion.  I actually went twice this weekend due to the circumstances that I faced.  My personal belief is that it is important to worship WITH others.  A personal/private prayer life is important, but I do not believe that is enough on its own.  Not judging others who feel that way, but do not agree with it either.

I go to church regularly.  The people there are like family to me.

Yes, I go to church every Sunday and holidays.  Sometimes I miss a Sunday, such as when I am away, and I miss it, and watch the sermon on a video when I return.

When I was younger, I use to go a few times a month.  In the past 10 years, I started to go about once a month. Nowadays, I think I might only go a few times a year. I guess when I moved, I didn't connect with the people in the neighboring churches and just didn't see this as a priority (that sounds kind of bad).

I make it my responsibility to be in church every week, it would be best to say I look forward to Sundays.

I don't attend a near-by church because I have many times in the past, and several different churches but have usually always left feeling like I got absolutely nothing out of being there.

(There's NO such thing as a church with all perfect people in its congregation...many churches have some real rascals, and church is where they SHOULD be.)

Instead, I've found a couple of churches that put their services on-line and I get so much from them in 30 minutes than I ever could in a church here, I could listen to them for hours!!  (and sometimes I do...I set alarm to get up early and listen to the 30 minute teaching to start my day, sometimes I re-listen to their teachings to refresh my memory.)  Many times I'm listening again later in the evening and ALWAYS an hour on Sunday morning, no problem!  It's something I look forward to.

If they were closer, I'd be at their church...but I still consider their church to be my church.  :)
