Our family Christmas tree was packed up a few days ago. We didn't have lights on the outside of the house.

We're in the process of taking everything down.  Tree, along with inside decorations has been down a few days.  We're in the process of taking outside decorations down.  That is going a bit slower because it's so cold outside.  We keep everything up and lights on through New Years Day.

It's a tradition in our house to take down the Christmas decorations on New Year's Day, and that's exactly what happened this year. Usually we have a few neighbors who keep up their outside Christmas lights year round, but this year it seems that everybody took them down the same day we did.

Didn't have to take them down because I didn't decorate. I used to go all out but since the kids and grandkids are all grown, it's not the same. There are lights on the outside which hubby turns on Christmas Eve and leaves on until New Year's Eve, then off for another year. They're up there all yera round.

We'll be taking ours down starting tomorrow, Sunday.
We like to leave them up through the Epiphany... the 12th day of Christmas.... cuz Catholic.

I had an enjoyable Christmas, hope everyone did too :)

I haven't even put up decorations at my house in a couple of years.  I spend most of my time at my daughter's house keeping my two year old grandson, so I don't decorate my house.

My decorations usually come down the weekend after New Years. However this year because of the cold weather the inside decorations will be coming down but the outside decorations will be staying up another week.

Every inside came down the day after New Years Day but the outside decorations are still out and will stay there until it gets warmer.  Maybe tomorrow it is suppose to be 32 here,

No we have not.  My son is going to Costa Rico this semester for college.  He asked us to keep the Christmas decorations up until he leaves on Tuesday.

My son took down all of the lights attached to the house exterior yesterday while my wife took all the decorations off of the Christmas tree. We still have two huge trees to remove Christmas tree lights from and ribbons galore around the house. I only have the kids around the house for another eight days before they go back to college. It was sixty degrees in our area today and the same temperatures are forecast through Monday (in Colorado). We have even changed the neckerchiefs on our Golden retrievers to president's day themes. Our neighborhood was quite festive this year but a large percentage of our neighbors have taken advantage of the nice weather and taken down their Christmas decorations. One or two will probably push it until February.

Since both of my boys  have passed and my grandson is grown and on his own, and of course  not here also my lovely daughter-in-law has  been married to a wonderful man now and lives quite a ways off, we don't decorate. Always seems so lonely with anyone here. So we go out to my brother's house with his family for  dinner then come home.  Although we  do go to Church and  the Christmas eve program  along with the Lords supper.  Do our volunteer work at the charity .  Also help pack and deliver Christmas boxes for those in need. So in a lot of  ways we celebrate Christmas and this year I gave all of my Christmas decorations to my niece and her children to use. I had bought a lot of decorations  hoping for grand children and that  never  happened. Except for an adopted grandchild and like I said he has  gone his own way.
