Jehovah does not share his glory with graven images.—Isa 42:8.

I have to laugh.....how many baseball players make the sign of the cross before coming to homeplate?

The catholic church has tons of wood and stone in it to be bowed down to.Scripture in Isiah tells of a man getting a piece of wood and using it to stay warm and cook....then later he carves a god out of it.A DEAD piece of wood. How do you think the true God feels about that?Go read how the Israelites were punished after Jehovah opened the sea for them and save them only to see them bow down to golden calves.

Insult you?No it is you who insults God

We will just have to agree to disagree then.

You are mistaken in your understanding of what/how the Catholic church worships, but those are far more involved topics of discussion for another place. Nobody is going to have their mind or heart changed in a forum meant for earning spending money!
Regardless of that, calling the cross a "good luck charm" is not a fair characterization.   :peace:
I am not sure if you support bible or just the catholic teachings.I was brought up a catholic and at a very young age i couldnt understand why a god of love would punish his creation in a firery hell.I thought it made him look wicked and not as love as bible describes him.

I back up all my posts and reference them with the bible.Jesus didnt have a hard telling the religeous leaders in his day they supported Satan and not his father.I dont have a problem speaking out here with authority on the truth. It really isnt hard to see.It just matters where your heart condition is.

You were the one that posted me and disagreed with the cross.I used biblical teachings and there are more backing it up why its an idol. You even have a foolish FC that thinks the name Jehovah is an idol when in Psalms 83:18 KJV it tells u Gods name and the bible backs it up why HE says its important to use it cos it separates him from all the false gods.

Remember you questioned what i said.I only tried to support it.If u check further you will see the cross had pagan origins just like Xmas as another example...12/25 nowheres to be found in bible.I bring it up cos catholics support the pagan holiday when Jesus said to memorialize his death not his birth.

Go read Math 2nd chapter on the murderous occaision i mentioned in earlier topic.HO HO HO!!!Really?

Santa,Rudolph, mistletoe etc what the hec does that have to do with Jesus birth anyway??

Blind!

Sorry..i omitted FC member earlier. Not only did he use Gods name being an idol he said it wasnt important...LOL!!Not sure what bible he reads.God clearly says he wont share his glory with no other false gods.Jesus said I have made YOUR name known...the only true God and the one u sent forth in Jesus Christ.

Bible truths are like a double edge sword. They discern the heart condition of us.Very easy to see that with some on here. Most would rather decide whats good or bad or whats been drilled in their heads.Thats why Jesus said there would be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous cos many died in ignorance of the truth and some may have a change of heart when taught the truth in Jesus 1000 yr rein just like the 1 of the evil-doers did being executed with Jesus next to him on torture stake. He said to Jesus please remember me.Jesus saw his heart was changed and said you will be with me in paradise.Clearly Jesus forgave him for his sins when he realized who Jesus was and what he did for mankind.

Like I said before - there is little chance of changing of minds in this forum.

I have typed out several responses to your comments here, but each time have chosen to delete each draft because I find myself falling away from my intended sentiment.

Let me just say that it is often impossible to follow your logic at times where you make isolated scriptural references. This isn't 100% due to the stupidity of the reader! They sometimes just do not make any sense, especially when taken singularly out of context.

I respect your devotion, believe me, I really do. But I take issue with your conclusion that anyone who does not see the scripture 100% in line with your opinion as being an apostate. (My words not yours).

At the end of your post, you reference Jesus and the repentant thief who died with him.   YES!!!  That is at the heart of all this. Forgiveness!  We both believe in this same Jesus who saved the world. We both believe that He died for our salvation. Does it really matter that I believe that he died on a wooden cross and that I wear one with his image on it to help me to remember that moment of pure love? Really?

I can tell you a few things with absolute certainty. (1) I do not worship the cross (nor do any Catholics who know their faith), I only worship Jesus, his Father, and the Holy Spirit.  (2) The cross is not a "good luck charm." I am not wearing a rabbit's foot around my neck - hoping that it will keep me from harm or misfortune. I am wearing something to remind me of what Jesus did for me. (3) If Jesus did not actually die on a "T" shaped cross, but instead died on a vertical pole - that does not change the fact that he died for ME and to save me from my sins.  If I got the manner or shape of it wrong (and I do not believe that I did, but if by chance I have) am I really an ignorant and sinful fool eternally insulting God for it? Really? If that is truly what you are saying, based upon your opinion of what the meaning of the graven images line is about, then that last bit in your post about the repentant thief means absolutely nothing.

So, one more time I say - I find your characterization of the cross as a "good luck charm" offensive.

All i am doing is supporting how Jehovah feels about idols and much of it the bible supports. You dont need an idol to remind you of what Jesus did.Jesus said worship with spirit and truth.Do u know what that means?God isnt going to back up something that originated with false relgeon. And the cross did.Simple.

Why would you wanna wear something that was used in someones suffering or death on a loved one?Like i said earlier if u had a loved one killed by a gun do you need to wear a replica of it to remind you?

Jehovah is a spirit!Spirit and truth.Backed up by bible.

John 4:23 New International Version
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

Go read how God felt when AAron gave in to peer pressure and made the golden calf.Moses interceded on his part cos of AArons faithfulness and God forgave him.God at first was incensed.Did AAron or any of the other Jews need a golden calf forget how Jehovah opened up the sea for them and save them from the Egyptians?

You say u support bible but i wonder how much of it u have been taught. How much more proof do u need to see how God feels about idols?

The Pharisees wanted to be seen when they prayed.Jesus said because of that they are already getting their reward in full.

Point being many use these idols to draw attention to themselves. And please dont insult me.I am not accusing you but many use them for good luck charms.Spirit and truth get it done.

Ever hear this......

I dont care if it rains or freezes as long as i have my plastic Jesus on the dashboard of my car.

Remember you arent disagreeing with me.This is how God feels and its backed up by his word.

Ugetpaid...i agree when u say there is little interest in forum Re the bible.I am very aware of that and the bible backs that up saying the road is spacious to destruction.IOW many wont listen.

I am more then happy to explain my posts if the chat is friendly and doesnt turn into a debate.I promise i wont bite your head off if u disagree as long as i perceive you are being kind.I have taken attitude to some here for obvious reasons of their hate for Gods organization and the worldwide brotherhood they are and follow their teacher Jesus faithfully.

I am far from perfect and i use the bible the best i can to explain the posts.I am sorry if some disagree.I find even when u show some proof they will still resort to their ignorance. If u need examples i am or an explanation i am happy to provide as i have tried to do using the bible on idols.

What has happened in this world man and satanic doctrines have replaced bible truths and when u point that out their ignorance comes out full force.

I always had a problem being younger why God allowed wickedness to prevail.Being brought up a catholic that was never answered to me.Jehovahs organization and his people and their bible aids did.Plus i have seen they have love among themselves within their meetiing etc.An identifying quality Jesus said his followers would have.

You have a foolish FC member here that says Jesus backed up his followers carrying swords. If that were the case why did Jesus scold Peter when he used it to defend him.The member didnt get the lesson Jesus was trying to teach you dont need to use the sword around others that were armed. If Jesus supported it he would have thanked and praised Peter.Instead he scolded him.Understand?

Dude. Hit the ignore button. He is crazy and not seeing his posts will make your time in the forum a lot happier :D
You are correct in that most of the Bible verses he spouts out are taken out of concept but the religion he follows does that quite often. The last time they came to my house there were two of them and they tried to force entry in to MY HOME and I had to literally SHOVE the person back out the door.  And I didn't even invite them in or open the door.  She saw me in the kitchen and started jerking the door trying to get inside.  That is a good way to get yourself shot.

You are right about another thing---you def won't change somebody's mind by insulting them and screaming they are going to hell.

And when he responds to my post calling me names, putting me down, and screaming I am going to hell.....
I won't see it lolololol

I have always believed that evil is learned. A baby is born a blank slate, and doesn't know what hate is. I think as they grown older, people can develop mental issues that make them commit evil acts. To specifically address your question, if I knew while my baby was in the womb that it would be turn out to be evil, I would still give birth to that baby and seek resources to address the impending evil.

No need for apologies.I relate well to that as well.

I just read the reply Controversial Girl wrote to you.Its a blessing that she has ignored me,but then she can put 2 and 2 together from other posts.I will keep this short and tell you she isnt very kind. Not only from my perspective but you can add all her posts up and see the kind of person she is.I am glad she isnt my next door neighbor where i would see her.

The fact that she had to write that post to you shows she still wants to tangle and cause trouble by butting in.Ponder that.....all of you.Im sure all this time she has been busting a gut to be involved with what i say.Obvious.Her satisfaction is in her mind having the last word.Tick tick...she'll be back.LOL!

When others didnt agree with Jesus he said to shake the dust off your feet and move on.Shes controversial in everything it seems. Her job, politics etc and then trys to lay blame on those that ticked her off.Sad...and in her mind she thinks shes going to heaven....LOL!

I just reported her for flaming.Gods people are told even more so today that those not interested to take Jesus advice. She comes across like they have to be shot.Go read where Russia is persecuting Gods people and in Washington 4 kingdoms halls were victims of arson. Its just a matter of time before Jehovah is gonna step in.

I forgot to add something also about ControversialGirl that backs up what i say.She says in 1 of her posts i said she is going to hell.Well if she knew anything about the JWs teachings they teach hell doesnt exist. It is the common grave.Maybe if she listened to them when they came to her door she would have learned that.

Whether it be in person or on a forum i really get annoyed being accused of something that isnt true.I should try to be more like Jehovah cos he was accused by Satan of lies. Its a lesson i need to learn better of.And lets not forget what Jesus was accused of and he remained faithful till death. His love for God could not be denied.

Oh my gosh, I started reading responses some people were leaving and actually lost track of time.  I don't believe babies are born evil either.  I too believe babies are born into a sinful world with sinful nature.  If you are born human... you are born with a sinful nature.  The murderer part - certainly that's demonic but I don't believe they were born that way.  Something along the way of murders growing, learning and developing as well as environmental factors and life's experience all influence the mind of a murderer.
