Walking off the Job
« on: March 30, 2020, 05:35:11 am »
I saw on the news this morning where several companies have employees who are walking off the job.  All are delivery type jobs.  Not sure what is going to happen if deliveries stop. Or why delivery drivers think they need hazmat suits.  ::)

Just do like everyone else has and change the rules.  You are not allowed to meet the drivers and take from their hand. They will leave outside door and you pick up after they leave.

My UPS guy is pretty good.  He is concerned but not physco.  I had a package the other day and he met me and handed it to me.  But I have no problem if he wants to leave it outside.  Fedex on the other hand is a completely different story. lol Worse driver ever!

The UPS guy always drops the package off at my front door and leaves. I never meet or speak to him. If the drivers are concerned they should wear a mask and gloves. Maybe they hate their jobs and now have found an excuse to quit.

My UPS guy just rings the bell once and leaves the package on the door, we can a case last year were the package required signature.  I live on a 3 level townhouse, were the front door is the first level (basement) with a bedroom, the UPS guy would ring the bell once and leave before we were able to get to the door, if you are on the third floor it will take you a minute or so to get down, if you are on the basement do not hear the door bell, we called and told the dispatcher that he had to knock on the door and ring the bell and give us about 2 minutes to get there depending on were we were in the house at the moment.  The next day the driver did all of that and GAVE US AN ATTITUDE BECAUSE WE WERE HOLDING HIM UP, excuse me but if there is an elderly in the house that walks really slow you need to give then time to come to the door.  He was very rude about it.

Kind of surprising with unemployment rates approaching depression age levels. I have run across a delivery person at my house once in the last decade. I see the postman occasionally when walking my dogs. We get deliveries frequently and the delivery person leaves it on the front porch (rings the bell if it is something identified as fragile, something I want to be notified about, or something of higher value higher value). The only exception is wine deliveries, which need a signature, and come every other month or so. I would imagine that the delivery person would leave the clipboard on our porch and step back a few feet (pick it up with gloves/sanitize). We are well stocked for now so it is pretty much a mute point unless we find any exceptional deals.

Hiya! :) :D

I think anyone who is constantly looking at the news will go crazy. All that staying home and just thinking about the virus can make anyone go mad. We need to just be careful and stay safe. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

I see no difference in package delivery. They've always put the package ring/knock loudly on the door & leave. Same old, same old. The difference now is when I go to my parent's house to get something, They leave whatever I need to pick up in the front door!

They can always use a mask.  My UPS guy always leaves stuff in our front porch.
