What do you do when you want to get off the phone?

I say well I will talk to you later

Make up an excuse!!  Or say you have another call coming in and have to take that call.

Just say "gotta go now, talk to you later". Or "the dog needs to go out". Or "have to use the bathroom". Lol!

LOL I typically say I am sorry but I have to go to the restroom because I took my water pills.  It always works and usually is true anyway.

Truth! I was at the Sam's Club gas station last week; pulled up to a pump behind another car where the guy was yak yak yakking on his cell phone while pumping his gas. He was talking very loud about all kinds of stuff and I wondered if the person on the other end was even getting any words in edge-wise to the conversation. Finally my guy says: "Well, [Timmy] is thumping his knee like he's gotta go to the bathroom, so I gotta go." And he quickly hangs up. There was an elderly person sitting in his front passenger seat that I couldn't tell if it was a man or woman - but it certainly wasn't "Timmy" doing the "I-Gotta-Pee" dance.


The guy got into his car and then drove off - not to the store where there is a public bathroom - but back out onto the street.

Generally, I just say I will talk with you later in the week or something of that nature; if I was in the middle of doing something when the call came in, I say I need to finish what I was doing! It is not hard for me to end a phone conversation.

When someone says they have to go, I say bye and I usually end the call.  I hate being on a call. It usually gives me a headache.

I don't normally speak on the phone that much aside from one friend and he usually ends the phone call but I would say what he normally says when he wants to end the phone call and that's "Let me call you back".

I would usually initiate ending the call myself and tell the other party that I am busy.

I usually just say "I'll let you go now - thanks for calling!" and that does the trick. You could also say you have to use the bathroom or check on something you are cooking.

I say that I need to go now and that usually work for me. Sometimes, I will say that I have to get ready for Doctor's appointment and that always works for me.

I hate being on the phone, I get sick of being on the phone.  So once I have had it being on the phone, I tell the person on the line, that I have to go, something else to do..

I don't answer it unless it is m husband. I hate talking on the phone.

You say "ok honey, well I need to......" and let them nicely know you have something that needs your attention at that moment.

I always say, I have to go, I’ve got to let the dogs out.  Blame it on the dogs lol !
