Off-Topic / Re: What social networking site do you use?
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:18:25 pm »Message ID: 342372
i have a facebook account but i can not remember the last time i used it for "social networking." it gets bothersome when all people post are reposts of the same ridiculous post. i don't need to copy a post of someone else's to show the world that i believe in god, am against child abuse, or wish there was a cure for cancer.

Off-Topic / Re: Do you open your door if you don't know the person standing outside?

i have a pretty thick security door so i don't have a problem opening the door. if i know that its someone from the local kingdom hall i have my husband talk to them because he was raised jehovah's witness and will sit and talk to them whereas i was raised catholic and they always try to convince me to come to their services.

i tell my husband and kids every chance i get. i know i should tell my parents and siblings more than i do but sometimes its hard to find the time to call or visit them.

as for life being too short, i disagree. its the longest thing you'll ever live through  :D

Off-Topic / Re: Mothers Day Coming up.
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:07:29 pm »Message ID: 342367
hopefully my mothers day will be celebrated by being able to relax in our new home. we move in on the 30th of this month and based on how things are going so far its probably unrealistic to think 8 days will be enough time to get everything unpacked and all settled in but a housewife can dream can't she? :)
if i am able to pull it off then i plan on having my mother and mother in law over for brunch and then give them their gifts, which is certificates for the 3 of us to have a spa day in wine country. if the house is not ready then i will be making a picnic brunch to take the winery by the spa before our appointments. obviously i am really hoping to have the house ready by then

I find it funny that they need a lifeguard at the beach which implies that they can drown.

i noticed that too, found it hilarious!
but i get it, its a cartoon so it doesn't necessarily have to make sense, its just supposed to be entertaining. if the show was presented as an educational program then i would understand there being a problem

while trust and communication is important, i think what you're missing is that she is your ex for a reason. its kind of like if you burn your hand on the stove. you're not going to go back and put your hand on the hot stove again, are you? no, because that was a mistake and you have learned your lesson

Off-Topic / Re: Are we ready for the world to end on MAY 12 2011

i don't believe that the world will end on either of those days but if it has to i'd definitely prefer december 12, 2012. i have spent way too much time, energy, and money on our new house to only be able to live in it for 11 days if the world ends on may 12th :D

my first time was 2 months before my 18th birthday. my 18th birthday is now exactly 7 months before my son's birthday so we all know how well my "first" experience panned out ;)

Off-Topic / Re: if u only had one wish, what would be?
« on: April 19, 2011, 02:46:21 pm »Message ID: 342181
i wish that i could start today over again. today was supposed to be a very special day for us, we were going to get the keys to our new home to take measurements before we move in next week. instead the day consisted of finding out that our refrigerator and couch will not fit in the new house, that none of the light fixtures in any of the rooms work, and then coming out to find a ticket on our car claiming "improper display of tabs" what the heck does that even mean? now i'm expected to find a way to find a way to get a new fridge and couch, replace all the lights, and pay this stupid ticket without going over our moving budget. so i guess my real wish should be a larger moving budget :/

Off-Topic / Re: how much sleep do you get?
« on: April 17, 2011, 05:00:10 pm »Message ID: 341375
7 hours is my perfect nights sleep, but i can actually function on 5 or 6, which is good because thats usually about what i get. anything more than 8 hours and i feel worse than if i'd only slept 2. but the past week i've only been getting 4 or 5 because i have been staying up late packing and cleaning the house, not to mention that i am soooo excited about moving!

Off-Topic / Re: Any Big plans for Easter?
« on: April 17, 2011, 04:57:29 pm »Message ID: 341370
we'll open easter baskets, eat breakfast and then get ready to head out to my aunts house for her BBQ/egghunt/ massive month of april bday party (all 3 of her kids, her husband and her own bdays are all in april) it always a lot of fun for my kids to get to play with their cousins and for me to be able to visit with my family. of course, all of this depends on how we are all feeling after our saturday plans of going whale watching

we go to a sitdown restaurant about once a month as a special occasion, order in pizza about twice a month. might grab some fast food once or twice when we're out running errands but for the most part our meals are homecooked and eaten at the table as a family thing.

Off-Topic / Re: Becoming an Aunt!
« on: April 17, 2011, 04:50:49 pm »Message ID: 341357
i'm a little bit jealous, being an aunt sounds awesome! my husband's older brother has 3 kids but i don't exactly feel like an aunt, mainly because the "neices" are only 2 and 3 years younger than i am, but also because since my brother-in-law and his wife divorced we do not see the kids. and my siblings are both younger than me and not only do they not have kids, neither of them are planning on having them at all. thats a good thing because i don't think people should have kids unless they really want them but its kind of sad to think that my 2 kids won't have any close cousins, and that i won't get to be an aunt :/
