Toys for Tots..
« on: December 18, 2010, 07:25:04 am »
 >:( I don't know if anyone has ever had to use it for help..I needed help this year and well I was so saddened by how the people are treated who need help..where I live its really wrong...First people line up way early to get a number, then you stand in the line and wait for them to give you a number..K people were out there since 11am (now this is all the day before actual day off toys for tots) and I arrived at 5 pm,I sat there till 8 pm before the person running it (inside the warm building while we were cold) comes out and says keep your spot in line at 3 am they will pass out tickets..And no holding spots in line..I am floored..I have to wait till 3 am for a number and then come back at 8 am to pick up and if I leave I lose my place and may end up number 5000 or whatever..I was debating is this really worth me doing this..as I watched people skip ahead in line because they were family or whatever..Then this lady next to me says to someone who asked how does it work..She explains each kid gets a toy,one game per family and a dvd,a pair of socks not a package a pair and a pair of underwear.WHAT?? Everything I donated over the years and this is how they give to needy they give them the bare minimum is it cause we are in a small city how is that fair..It really showed me people who are poor or are in need get treated like they are not human..Needless to say I left upset and disappointed how this was organized, how I felt I was treated for needing help and how some people acted very selfish and wrong in the name of giving ..Anyone have any opinions?? And just a note the organizers were not the only ones acting like idiots some people in line were really stupid in their actions!! :sad1:

I have never seen this, and I heard it from you the first time. I watched related movie, but I do not know how they do and How I can help, I hope, the orgnizers can show some list(like number or name list) then show to the people who want to help them, one family help one family, this way would be better. then others can use other way to help.
