I hope so as well. As a public health professional myself, I hope that China can successfully get this under control. The last I heard, the United States has a few cases of the virus itself. Ugh.

Yes it is very concerning especially now that it has reached the United States.  I hate going out anyway but stuff like this makes me hate going out even worse.  Best to all

The mobility of our world certainly makes the spread of viruses move swiftly and very far reaching.

History tells the story of a village called Eyam where the black plague entered the town via flea-infested cloth.  Soon villagers were dying.  In short, the village did a self imposed quarantine to stop the spread of the disease.

It is a little scary. I am worried even though it hasn't reached Florida. They have reported that some people can spread it even if they aren't showing any signs of the virus.

It has become a worldwide crisis.  We still have masks from the SARS virus years ago.  I nned to get them out and see if they are still gook.

I do not think this is a world wide crisis.  There are 11 cases out of all the people in the US.  That is not a crisis.  We will go back to the fake news.  One thing says this is no worse than the flu.  Then you have China with their people locked in their homes.  It is bad in China but not the whole world.  I have seen 1 or maybe 2 cases in a couple other countries (again assuming you are told the truth).  I do not see it needing to be called a world wide crisis. It is not a crisis here.  I already stay home all I can because of the flu so I am not too concerned about this. I also think IF things got that bad here you would need police in riot gear having to beat people with night sticks to keep them in their homes.

They say that China leadership is doing a much better job with the corona virus than they did with SARS years ago. I find it amazing that there are only 11 cases of corona in the U.S. and that those 11 cases are being strictly isolated. The risk to the rest of us in the USA remains very low, thank goodness.

No they aren't.  The people are not isolated at all.  Two are person to person so they got it from somebody who got it from being in China.  You are contagious up to 14 days before you know you have it.  Who all were all these people with or around in public before they showed symptoms?  The people are NOT isolated at all.  They are not quarantined either.  The ones on the military base are ones who were flown in from China.  And they are not sick.

Hope and pray everything works out soon.  Some people are not concerned about things until it hits close to home.

As of Monday, China had 20,438 cases, and more than 160 cases have been diagnosed in two dozen other countries, including 11 in the United States.  425 dead in China.   Worthy of concern.
