Loud music annoyance
« on: June 08, 2020, 04:13:36 am »
I live in a city where different people always have loud music playing. I am not talking about hey that is a good song  turn it up. I am talking concert quality in a car or in a backyard for hours on end. it can be really annoying when you live next door to someone who constantly does this :peace:

At this time the community I live in I do not have this issue but I have lived a couple of places over my life where I did.  I do have a road going behind my house that I hear extremely loud music but at least it is just going by - unfortunately sometimes it is during the night and wakes me up.

Luckily we live in the mts with really only one neighbor at the bottom of our property. They are quiet. Not music, but My sister lives where a dog barks constantly to where she has to wear earplugs outside. Plus it comes on their property a lot and growls. The authorities won't do anything and they can't shoot the dog unless it actually bites them.

I live in the country but can still here cars going down the street with the booming stereos. Luckily it is only for seconds at a time as they pass by.

OMG, I have the same problem in my neighborhood. Some people are simply not considerate of the space and surroundings of others. It is extremely annoying. I recently had a neighbor (who thankfully moved recently) who played his music constantly throughout the day. At one point, the music continued into the late evening, night, and early morning. I eventually reached my breaking point and reported him to the local police. At least six police cars descended on his house, LOL. Needlessly to say, up until the day he moved out, I did not hear a peep from him.

I am a little more tolerant with people that confine the loud music to their head phones (yes you can hear it when they have it cranked) or in their car (as long as their windows are closed. I both scenarios the people are at least trying to keep the music to themselves. It can be annoying when people have their headphones on and they start singing the song that they are listening to. My wife will do this a lot when she is cleaning the house. She also likes to play music and speak in a loud voice when she gets outside but tapers down by ten in the evening. Our neighbors are fairly well distanced so the music is tolerable and they stop playing music, or take it inside, at bout ten in the evening. If somebody is not respecting those around them I generally put my ear phones in and turn the music up to a point where I do not hear them.

I like music, my music, not the blaring, intolerable decibels of my neighbor.  It compromises my inner peace.

i remember living in one apartment in my youthful days where the guy downstairs was in a rock band that practiced in his apartment. OMG, it was SO loud! And then to top it off, the people upstairs must have had a bowling alley up there! It was so raucous that the chandelier light over my table would swing back and forth! Thankfully I was young and out of my apartment a lot. I would definitely be talking to the upstairs and downstairs neighbors and the apartment complex office if I was in the same situation today!  :peace:

I haven't had to deal with this problem, thank goodness.  My neighborhood is made up of mostly retirees.  We might get the occasional car drive by with loud music but at least they are just driving through.

Do you know who exactly is playing the music? If you feel comfortable you could try and tell them to turn it down. Many cities have quiet hours, too, so it wouldn't be rude.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

This happens every now and then for me but my next door neighbor is the real problem. Every time they have a party, it goes all the way till like 4:30 in the morning. I swear I have half a mind to call the cops.  :-\
