Loud music doesn't bother me as long as it's not when I' trying to sleep. Otherwise I'm listening to it too!

I used to be one of those that played loud music.  Luckily my neighbors and I have the same taste in music.  I tried to be courteous about the time of day and also if my neighbors had company I would keep the music down.  I also am not the only one in the hood that played the music on the loud side.  I can say that it wasn't a constant thing to happen.  Once in a while one of us would play the music loud.  I can't stand the cars that go by with the base up.  Man that is annoying.  Can hear them coming from blocks away.  And it's usually rap music.

There must be a law that can be used to warn them about disturbing the peace...

I absolutely love music so much that I don't think that would even bother me, but of course, I haven't lived through the actual experience so it's easier said than done. Depending on what type of music you want and what you are looking for, I would definitely recommend https://depositphotos.com/music.html which is a really big royalty-free music library. I've been using it since my early days in university as a marketing major and I'm still using it to this day in the work that I do day-to-day. I actually have a yearly subscription at this point, but you can also download just as a one-time thing. I actually have some amazing finds on there that I can listen to as normal music, instead of paying a subscription for Spotify, or something like that.

We only here the loud music on Saturday night in the summer.  The store is about 3 miles from the house and they have it in the summer.

My neighbors sometimes will have loud parties. It's so rude.

Why do people feel it's okay to play loud music in their neighborhood?  Just because they like it doesn't mean that you do.  It makes you want to kick something.

The loud music is not for others and since when did people care? I think of calling the cops but then I don't because I think maybe another neighbor might. Kind of like the bystander effect but for neighbors.  ;D

I live in an apartment complex and people are always driving through with music so loud you can hear it with their car windows up.  Also my neighbor downstairs for about three months had a party every Friday night and the music was so loud and the bass so strong that it vibrated through my floor.

That's what I was thinking; sometimes politely asking them to turn it down around a certain time of day does the trick, if not then it's technically disturbing the police and you could call the police- although I don't know if I'd actually recommend this because it can create an awkward living environment with the neighbors unless you call anonymously.

Do you know who exactly is playing the music? If you feel comfortable you could try and tell them to turn it down. Many cities have quiet hours, too, so it wouldn't be rude.

My ex husband use to blast music loudly, but our neighbors did it periodically too and it was never during inconsiderate hours so I guess we all just had a mutual unspoken understanding.

I don't like music being blasted and why people think others want to hear it.  We don't have that problem in my neighborhood and we also have a noise ordinance from 11pm to 7am which is helpful.  Years ago someone called the cops on my son for skateboarding in our block at 11:05pm so rules are enforced here.  He was informed of the rules and had to come in the house.
